Fifteen years later, this movie is still cool as hell, and also drives home the point that the US government's "war" on drugs is an absolute joke. Of films I've seen involving undercover cops, it's the best, but I think many would consider it at least one of the best in general. Lawrence Fishburne's performance was pitch perfect, and I don't think I've ever seen Jeff Goldblum cooler than in this movie. Granted, the first half of the movie, he was getting punked by Barbosa, but when his character started to man-up, boy did he MAN-UP!! Up until the last time I saw it on cable this past weekend, I didn't realize Bill Duke (Predator, Commando, Menace II Society) was the director!
