I really, really hope so. Aside from the silent Call Of cthulhu independent movie, there has been no real GOOD movies based on Lovecraft's work.

Hellboy showed Del Toro can handle Lovecraftian elements, and I truly hope to see this come to fruition.

Dear Jesus:

I only ask you for 2 things..

1) A Japanese girlfriend.

2) Please make this true....please :(

I hoped and knew you'd be the first to reply buddy :D

I posted a topic in misc games where he discusses the hellboy game, which is sounding awesome :D

Let me go there immediatly.

Oh, and another thing...the Stuart Gordon's Lovecraft "adaptations" are HORRIBLE. :down

"Re-Animator" my ass

I hate those movies so much. They **** all over the great man's work :(

I really, really don't get how so many people love them. I think they are crappola.

Whens he gonna fit The Witches in?

yeah, whatever happened to The Witches?

Someone ought to do a proper The Dunwich Horror . . . And, speaking of Lovecraft, I've been trying to come up with supervillain names for the human bad guys in HPL, like Herbert West and Wilbur Whateley. West could be the Zombie Master, but I can't think of ones for any of the others, like Obed Marsh or anyone. Can any of you?

haha, kind of specific first one

Del Toro, is fantasy gold, and I haven't even seen this art work he has done for Pan's Labrynth

Yeah, I hope this happens too. I'm fan of del Toro and Lovecraft.

/Beyond the Wall of Sleep/ wasn't too bad, for an attempt to film the unfilmable.

Since Halo has been placed on hold...I hope that someone will jump at the chance to hire him to direct a God of War adaptation. That would be insane.

What does Halo have anything to do with Del Toro? He was never directing it.

He was in talks for directing it.

Yeah I know. But they hired a director for Halo already. That guy seems to think Del Toro was attached to the project.

Here is part of an interview where he speaks about the movie, but it's in Spanish so you will have to use a translator.

Hola, Guillermo.

I guess I never got past this tid bit and looked over the fact that they did end up picking a director.

dang, WP don't be so on edge all the time. :cwink:

I was merely commenting on the fact that he's being so sought after lately especially after Pan's Labrynth, that he could do anything he wants after HB2...and someone should throw GoW his way...he'd be a good choice. And also the original poster of this thread mentioned he's doing Call Of cthulhu...which was an HP Lovecraft adapted video game.

I am not on edge. I was just simply pointing out that Del Toror wasn't connected with Halo. Sorry if I sounded rude.

SO glad I'm not the only person here who knows about Lovecraft . . .
