"Desire of Power" (A Venom story)

The plot to this story is that Eddie Brock has cancer and is in a hospital, but the Symbiote basically forces it's way onto him. Venom wants to defeat Spidey and get back at him once again. There is alot more to the plot, but I want to save it for the story. Anyway, here's part I



"THE DESIRE OF POWER"

Part I:
A cold, stormy night in NYC. Hospital patients sleep silently in their beds while others watch TV. However, there is one poor soul that isn't like all the others at the moment. He's tossing and turning in his bed, dreaming of times when he had great power and felt like nothing could ever hurt him. Then a nurse walks by his room and sees he's having a nightmare.

Nurse: "Eddie? Eddie, are you okay?"

Slowly, but surely, Eddie Brocks' eyes open up.

Eddie: "I-I'm fine", says Brock in a soft manner.

Nurse Jill looks at Brock in an odd manner.

Eddie: "Now could you leave? Please?

Nurse Jill smiles, and walks away.

Eddie Brock looks out the window, staring, not even blinking whatsoever. Then, lightning happens and a familiar monster face quickly appears on the window and startles
Brock.

Eddie: "N-no!", says Eddie in a quiet manner once again.

Eddie Brock decides to try and forget about it and go to sleep. Then, Brock hears something from a dark corner of the room/

Symbiote: "Eddddieeeee", says the monster in a quite manner.

Eddie: "Hello?"

No noise, nothing, not even a peep. Only the sound of rain hitting the windows and thunder.

Then, it happens again

Symbiote: "Eddddieeeee"

Eddie Brock's sweating, eyes wide, breathnig heavy.

Eddie: "Who's that? Show yourself!"

Then, a dark shadow, almost just an odd shape starts to creep along the walls and then eyes appear, staring at Brock. The eys could burn a hole right through you.

Symbiote: "Hellloooo Eddie. Remember us?"

Brocks' mouth is wide open...

Eddie: "N-no, y-you can't be real. You're not real."

Symbiote: "Oh, yes we are, Eddie. Don't you remeber? The power, the feeling of invincibility."

The Symbiote then oozes it's way closer to Brock.

Symbiote: "We must destroy the one who destroyed your life years ago."

Eddie: "No! Get out of my head!"

Symbiote: "This is all real Eddie. This is reality and nothing else. You're destiny, has not yet been completed."

Eddie: "Why are you doing this? I don't want you!"

Symbiote: "Becuase, you are the one we need. You are the chosen one, Eddie Brock. We were rejected, but we found you."

Eddie: "Don't you get it?! I don't want you anymore. Just let me be here! I don't want to cause anymore harm to anybody!"

Symbiote: "Come one, Eddie. You know you want the power, that old feeling of greatness."

Eddie Brock just stares, looking like he wants to say something.

Eddie: "You can't do this to me."

Symbiote: "Yes, we can."

The Symbiote then starts to crawl up Brocks leg.

Eddie: "No, No, NOOOOO!!!!"

Then, heavy, raspy breathing is the only thing heard along with rain and thunder.

Venom: "Finally, we're back! We are Venom!!!!!"

"The Desire of Power"

Part II
An apartment in some part of NYC. The apartment of none other than Peter Parker.

Peter Parker is folding his clothes

Peter: *I'm so exhausted from the amout of action I had today. Though, of course, my life is full of action and sometimes dissapointments.*

The door opens and in comes Mary Jane Watson.

MJ: "Hey, Tiger. What's the matter? You look down."
Peter sighs.

Peter: "I'm just a bit tired today from all that web-swinging and stopping crime I was doing."

MJ: "Tiger, why don't you just go to bed? I'll fold those clothes for you."

Peter: "Really? Thanks a bunch MJ."

Peter walks over to her and ksises her on the lips.

A few minutes later.

Mary Jane is cleaning up and is getting ready to go to bed. She usually listens to the Tv at this time of the night before she goes to bed.

News reporter on TV: "It appears as though someone has taken the patient out the window along with the suspect. I repeat, the missing patient is known as Eddie Brock. A patient that was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. If we get anymore detials on this strange incident, we'll keep you posted."

MJ looks very shocked. She then walks into bed and tries to sleep, but her eyes won't close.

Meanwhile, right on the same street that Peter Parkers' apartment is on, Edward Brock is walking down the sidewalk with a hat and long trenchcoat on.He stops in front of Parkers' apartment, and smiles, then walks away.

Later that night, a man sits alone in an abondoned apartment. a man named Mac Gargan.

Mac: *I had it all, but what happened? Why did I have to lose such great power?"

Mac Gargan gets a beer out of the refrigerator and starts drinking on his couch. Then....
*crack!*

The noise startles Gargan alot.

Mac: "Who's there?"

Then a raspy voice..

Venom: "Just us...."

Gargan turns around and gets a fist right to his face, knocking him into his
wall, leaving a big hole in the wall.

Venom: " Did you think you were better than us? That you had as much power as us? You were never good enough and you never will be!"

Venom kicks a bloody Mac Gargan right through Gargans' closet door.

Venom: "This is who we are! We are Venom!!!"

Gargan: "Shut up!!!!"

Gargan tries to punch Venom, but Venom webs up his hands and mouth and slams him against the wall.

The next morning...

MJ: "Uhhh, Peter, I really need to tell you something before you head out."
Peter: "Yes, MJ?"

MJ looks at Peter with a worried look.

MJ: "Uhhh....never mind. Just go."

MJ forces a smile to her face.

Peter: "Are you sure you're okay?"

MJ: "Yes, tiger. I'm fine."

Peter then kisses MJ, puts on his Spidey mask and shoots a web. Moments later, Spidey is web-swinging across town and sees cops surrounding a certain are.

Spidey: *I wonder what's going on here? I better check it out, just in case if innoccent people are in danger.*

Spidey jumps to a lower building and is shocked, just like everybody else on that street. A huge web is attached to two buildings with Mac Gargan stuck to it, knocked out. There seems to be big letters on the web and it says "Spyder, Spyder burning bright."

Here's part III!

"Desire of Power"

part III
We see Spidey just standing there and then....

Pedestrian: "Hey look! It's Spider-Man! He must have been the one who did that to him."

Then a whole crowd starts to join in and agree with him.

Spidey: *I'm out of here. Damn! It's all Jamesons' fault that all those people think I'm a criminal. Ah well, it's the usual Parker luck. Things go wrong...alot.*

Spidey jumps off the building and web swings across town.

Spidey: *Now, who could have done that? Mac Gargan used to be Venom, but then he lost the Symbiote for a reason that I think nobody knows for sure. Unless.....no.......that's crazy thinking. He couldn't have gotten the Symbiote. Well, I better just check that hospital to search for any clues. I can't go there know though. The cops will try to catch me as usual. I'll wait until things quiet down.*

Then, we cut to the Daily Bugle, and to a certain angry publisher.

JJJ: "What do you mean Spider-Man didn't do it? It's webs! There's only one person who could have done that and it's that wall crawling menace!"
Robbie: "Jonah, Spider-Man doesn't nearly kill criminals. Come on, Jonah, you know better than that.

Then, we see Peter Parker enter the office of the Daily Bugle.

Peter: "Hey Betty, is Mr. Jameson around?"

Betty: "He sure is, Pete, but he doesn't seem too happy today."

Peter: "well, then I better brace myself, heh."

Peter walks into JJJs' office

JJJ: "What do you want, Parker?! Do you have photos?"

Peter: "N-no, I don't Mr Jameson."

JJJ: "Then get out of my office and come back when you've got photos of that wall crawling menace!"

Then, a few moments later. Spider-Man is web-swinging across town.

Spidey: *Why does JJJ always want phottos of Spidey and nothing else? Nada, zip, zero, zilch.*

Spidey lands on a building to rest for a minute. Then someone gives Spidey a big kick in the back, sending Spidey off the roof. He shoots a web, and gets back up to the building.

Spidey: *What was that? It didn't trigger my spider sense.*
Then, Venom lands on the same roof.

Venom: "Long time no see, Parker. MIss us?

Spidey: "Brock?"

Venom pulls the Symbiote back to reveal face.

Venom: "In the flesh, Parker!"

Spidey: "Why, Eddie? Why did you give in to the Symbiote?"

Venom: "It's who we are parker and you will not come between us. If you try to seperate us, We won't stop at you, we'll go after your Aunt May or even Mary Jane watson."

Spidey jumps towards Venom and Venom grabs Spideys' fist then his throat.

Venom: "We're going to destroy you Parker. There's no way out this. No
lurrings, no fake deaths, this is going to be your ultimate demise!"

Venom punches Spidey in the face, sending Spidey off the roff, through a window into another building. Office workers are screaming and running for their lives.Venom then webs up Spidey by the legs, swings him around and throws him through the window and out the building. Spidey then shoots a web, slingshots him self back up with a powerhouse kick to Venoms' jaw, making Venom go through the ceiling and onto the roff alnog with Spidey.

Spidey: "You're not winning Venom! Give it up!"

Venom: "Oh, yes we are Parker!"

Venom slams Spidey into a big fan ontop of the building and then throws him, but this time Spidey webs Venom and pulls him off the roof long with Spidey. They both are fighting in mid air, punching and kicking non stop. Then Venom, shoots a web and swings with Spidey and throws him right
through another office building. Everyone runs and screams.

Venom: "Parker, you will not survive this one. We know your tricks!"

Spidey: "Y-you nearly killled Gargan!"

Venom: "Gargan? He's a wuss. He didn't know how to handle us. Just like how you're a wuss, Parker. You're life is about to be turned upside down and there are many reasons why you're going to be destroyed, but for now, we're going to sum it all up in five words, We are you're worst nightmare!"

Venom then jumps out of the building, and swings away to some place in NYC.

Spidey: *Brock, he's gone mad! Even worse then he was before, but I thought Brock didn't want to harm anyone. He tried to commite suicide the last time we met.*

"Desire of Power"

Part IV
Queens, neighborhood of May Parker.

Peter walks into Aunt Mays' house and sits down....

Aunt May: "What's wrong, dear? You look down."

Peter: "I-it's nothing, Aunt May. I'm perfectly fine. Just....fine. Aunt May, did anybody stop by your house today?"

Aunt May: "What do you mean, by anybody?"

Peter: "Just anybody."

Aunt May: "No, not really. Just the mail man and whe was so kind."

Peter: "Good, that's great, Aunt May."

Aunt May: "How's that sweet Mary Jane?"

Peter: "She's fine, nervous lately, but overall fine. She seemed odd the other night. She was tossing and turning in her sleep and she was so exhausted thenext morning. I should talk to her, but I think I know what's on her mind.

Aunt Anna walks in...

Aunt Anna: "Hi May, hi Peter."

Peter: "Hello, Aunt Anna."

Aunt Anna: "Peter, you're looking a bit sad today. What's on your mind."

Aunt May: "Anna, dear, Peter really doesn't want to talk about it. I think we should just give him some space."
Peter: "I have to get back to my apartment now. MJ is getting off work soon."

A few minutes later. Spidey is web-swinging across town.

Spidey: *Why me? Why do always have to hide my thoughts? Aunt May has taken care of me all of my life and I can't even open up to her like I should. I have to be Spider-Man though. It's my gift, my curse, and this entire city if my responsibility. Oh well, I'd better go check Eddie Brocks' profile. Thing is, how do I get it? Maybe Robbie can help me.*

A few moments later....

Robbie: " I'm not allowed to do that Spider-Man, but what do you need it for anyway?"

Spidey: "Just to, uh....check up on things. I mean, someone did kidnap him from the hospital the other night, so I wanted to see if he has anything in his past that might relate to the kidnapping."

Robbie: "Well, okay, but make sure you bring it back before 6:00 AM tommorow."

Spidey: "Sure thing Robbie. You have my word."

Robbie: "Oaky, here's the file on Eddie Brock dating back years ago."

Spidey: "Thanks Robbie."

Spidey shoots a web and swings away..

Spidey: *I couldn't tell Robbie that Eddie Brock was Venom. It would be all over the news and it could put innoccent lives in danger.*

Then, at Peters' apartment.

MJ: *Where is he? I ordered pizza. It's not here yet, but it soon will be."

*Knock, Knock!*

MJ: *Oh, that must be the pizza guy.*

MJ walks over to the door with the money and opens it.

MJ: "Hi, here's your....."

Eddie Brock is at the door with the pizza...

Eddie Brock: "Hi mam! So, how's Parker doing?"
The Symbiote slowly starts to cover Brocks' face.

Venom: "You're pizza's getting cooooold."
Then, Spidey is almost at his apartment.

Spidey: "Finally, I'm almost here. Wait.......NO!!!"

Spidey swings through his apartment window.

Venom: "Whoa! Killer entrance."

Spidey: "Put her down, Venom! This is between you and me!"

Venom: "As you wish, Parker!"

Venom throws MJ across the room, Spidey catches her.
Then, Venom dives into Spidey, both going through the window and out the buidling, punching and kicking. Venom pulls Spidey with his web and punches him in the jaw. Spidey counters one of the punches nad kicks Venom in the face twice. They both shoot webs and swing into eachother, right through the Daily Bugle window.

JJJ: "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON OUT HERE?!!!!!"

Spidey: "Oh no, not Jameson."

Spidey webs up Jamesons mouth, but isn't looking at Venom. Then...

Spidey: "I wouldn't keep babbling if I were you Jameson. You'll just wear yourself out, which I would perfer you do, old skinflint.

Venom: "Hey, Spider-wuss."

Venom throws a huge desk a Spidey sending Spidey right out the WIndow. Spidey, thankfully shoots a web and slingshots him self directly towards Venom kicks Venom so hard, sending him through two floors of the Daily Bugle building. Everything is quiet so far. Then, a webs attaches to Spidey's back, pulling him out the window and both Venom and Spidey land ontop of a car.

Venom: "What a rush!"

I agree, honestly, it's a great story and I'm glad your writing like before but some of the lines may be a little too unrealistic at times. Good story though. And shouldn't the title be Desire FOR Power, not of?

To be honest, I'm not sure what context the desire falls under. If it's Eddie's desire, then yes, it ought to be 'for.' If, however, it's the symbiote's desire, it would be 'of.' Hypothetically speaking, the symbiote is, itself, power and, thusly, can have desires.

Hey guys, I decided something. For the rest of my Venom story, I will do it like I've done all the other parts, but when I do my doc Ock story, I'll take Peter Parker's and Green Goblin 1964's advice.


"Desire of Power"

Part V

Spidey opens his eyes to see Venom just staring down at him. Nothing but silence for a few seconds...

Venom: "Sleeping on the job, Parker? That's bad for buisness."

police cars speed up to the scene, pedestrians gather around and watch in horror.

Venom: "woooowww, nice crowd! It's too bad we'll have to finish you off, Parker. You were a worthy foe, but we will not miss you."

Venom grabs Spidey by the foot and throws him right against a police car. Cops then shoots at Venom. Venom then looks at the cops with an angry type of look.

Venom: *Too many distractions here. We Have to finish him off somewhere else.*

Venom shoots a web and wed swings back across town to an abondoned apartment. Venom seems curious, but motivated at the same time. He seems as though he's about to burst into a monsturous rage!
Then, Spidey finally wakes up once again on the street with cops and pedestrians very curious if he's okay. Spidey doesn't really want the attention at the moment.

Spidey: "C-can you guys just back up please?"

Then, some cop starts running towards Spider-Man.

Cops: "Spider-Man, stop! You're under arrest."

The cops take out their guns and point them at Spider-Man. Obviously, JJJ is watching from a huge hole in the Daily Bugle building.

Spidey: "Sorry fellas, but I'm late for a meeting with a certain super villian."

Spider-Man shoots a web, swings away with great speed. He seems to be hurt though. Ribs hurting, head throbbing from the beating he took about 20 minutes earlier. Now, he seems more alert then ever about Venom. He can't rely on anything except his eyes to find out where Venom is or where he's going.

Spidey: *Erhhhhhh....ribs are killing me, but that can't stop me. I have to find Venom, but first, I have to check on MJ.*

Spidey final reaches his apartment and sees MJ cleaing things up. Peters' responsibility for his loved ones needs to be balanced with his life as Spider-Man. Venom is too fast and very unpredictable to Peter and everybody else. That's one of the reasons Peter sort of fears facing off with Venom. Then, He realises she's okay and breaths a big sigh of relief, but he forgot about one person...

Spidey: *Thankfully, she's alright. I thought she would......oh no! Aunt May!*

Peter starts sweating under his mask, fearing the worst when he arrives at Aunt May's house. That's the typical Parker luck for peter. Things go wrong alot, things don't work out the way he wants them to, but he still continues to go on as Spider-Man because with great power comes great responsibility. Then, Peter arrives at Aunt May's house and sees.....

Part VI

A nice, quiet home in queens, where May Parker quietly watches TV. Then, a certain Web-slinger looks in the window and sees that she's okay. He feels better, but still has to be on alert for Venom because he can pop up anywher. Spidey has seen it happen and has had trouble defeating him in the
past.

Spidey: *Whew! Thank god she's okay, but I better go. If Aunt May sees me, it can be too much for her heart. She wouldn't be able to control the shock.*

Spider-Man shoots a web and swings back to NYC. Thoughts are racing throug his mind while hel ooks through alleys and subways all over NYC.

Spider-Man: *No sign of him! Damn! Oh well, I better get hom so that I can...*

Then Venom comes out of no where off his web with a fast and powerful kick to Spider-Man, making Spidey fall onto his back. Spidey groans in pain, but regains his strength.

Venom: "You look down Parker, what's the matter? Cat got your toungue?"

Spidey stares at Venom and shoots a web into Venom's face, pulling himself right to Venom and punching him dead center in the face.
Then Venom goes to shoot a web at Spidey. Spidey counters with maultiple web balls hitting venom.

Spidey: "What's the matter, Venom? Spider got your toungue?"

Venom goes to punch Spidey, but Spidey jumps over him with great agility.

Spidey: "No need to get angry about it, big mouth."

Venom then shoots a web at Spidey, tieng him up against the wall, then Venom keeps punching non stop in Spidey's face.
He takes off his mask....

Venom: "Look at you, Parker. You're pathetic, you always have been."

Blood is coming from Peter's noise and moth.

Spidey: "No, Venom. You're the pathetic one. You're all brawn, no mind, that's why you will never beat me!"

Spidey: *I wish I was as brave as I sound right now, but I have to get Brock angry so that I can beat him down.*

Venom: "NOOOOO!!!!! We almost defeated you all those times. Face it Parker, you may be our geatest challenge, but that's all about to end!"

Spidey thinks hard about what he should say.

Spidey: "Venom! I tricked you into thinking you killed me on that island all those years ago! You were just too thick headed to know about that. It's still the same."

Venom: "I know what you're doing, Parker. You're trying to get us angry so that you can get the upper hand."

Spidey looks at Venom with a confused, shocked, and worried look. He doesn't seem to know what to do. However, he gets an angrier look on his face and starts to try to break out of Venom's web.

Spidey: "You're right Venom, you may know my tricks, but you forgot one thing. I always come back with more!"

Spidey breaks out of Venom's web and dives into him with such force. They both fall, but are exchaniging punches non stop, but
then they go through the roof and through maultiple floors of an abondoned apartment complex. Then, they both hit the ground hard! Both of them, not moving...
