Destin Daniel Cretton is the director!

I like the director, but as noted elsewhere, I just cannot care about this if its another multiverse movie. I just cannot. You could hire Martin Scorsese or Christopher Nolan or Steven Speilberg, if this is another multiverse movie, then this is done for me at concept.

I'm not done with the multiverse, but I see no benefit of doing it with Peter Parker Spider-Man again. That being said, if this is post-Avengers, I'd imagine they're done with that storyline.

I liked Shang-Chi. I thought the tone would be fine for a Spider-Man movie. There's not much else I can really add.

Isn't this rumored to be slated to take place between Doomsday and Secret Wars?

Yes, July 2026, which isn't included in Disney's placeholder dates.

We still have no idea what movie will take the Feb 2026 date. If First Steps isn't moving, the next movie after it, should be filming by the end of this year.

The man is willing to make any movie that’s not Shang-Chi 2 😭.

I don't think that is his call.
It isn't. But surely, if he really wanted to direct Shang-Chi 2 asap, he won't let other opportunities get in the way. The only good news is he's still under Disney's paycheck, compare to a director going to a different franchise. So maybe one day, if someone doesn't take over, he could direct the next Shang-Chi.

For as much as it’s up for debate how much of a stamp a filmmaker really puts on an MCU film, it’ll be interesting to see someone else’s take on this Spidey after Watts’s last three.

A brief introduction to the major works (movie director and co-writer) of Destin Daniel Cretton.

Shang-Chi [Simu Liu], the master of weaponry-based Kung Fu, is forced to confront his past after being drawn into the Ten Rings organization.

World-renowned civil rights defense attorney Bryan Stevenson [Michael B. Jordan] works to free a wrongly condemned death row prisoner.

A young girl [Jeanette, played by Brie Larson] comes of age in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads with a mother who's an eccentric artist and an alcoholic father who would stir the children's imagination with hope as a distraction to their poverty.

A 20-something supervising staff member [Grace, played by Brie Larson] of a residential treatment facility navigates the troubled waters of that world alongside her co-worker and longtime boyfriend.

Based in San Diego's indie music and art scene, exploring what it means to be creative in the face of tragedy [with Dominic Bogart as Brook Hyde].

I have only seen Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings.
