I think the best shoting they had that would top this headline is when I watched the news in july 5, 2004

channel 4 interviewed----
3 people that were at a 4th of july party and a guy was shot and killed.

take a guess why he got shot??

becuase he didn't want to give the other dude the big piece of chicken he wanted to eat!

the one guy the interviewed say "I geuss he should have gave him the big piece of chicken".

It isn't a joke though, its true. Detroit is like a horrific "Mad Max" vision of the future. Gary, IN is another example.
