Well, look who is writing this!

Fluid Comics’ DevaShard, which recently previewed at San Diego Comic-Con, is making its way to the big screen, courtesy of Vanquish Motion Pictures.

Vanquish toppers Jay Douglas and Nav Gupta won an apparently fierce bidding war for the 25 issue series DevaShard, sparked by its successful debut at the Con, and have tapped Heather Kenealy – who worked with the pair on the upcoming action indie feature Hour of the Assassins – to pen the screenplay, from a treatment by Underworld co-creator, actor and comics guru Kevin Grevioux, who will also executive produce the film.

DevaShard, crafted by Fluid Comics’ Zen, Keith Burns and Johnny Tam, is inspired by Asian mythology, centering on two forsaken sons – one born of darkness, the other of light – who are struggling to find their place in a grim world riddled with corrupt kingdoms, cursed demons and terrifying magic. Fluid Comics’ Simon Squibb and Helen Griffiths are publishing the comic series, which has been met with rave reviews since its Asia release.

“The densely diverse world and characters which DevaShard possesses is just too damn cool not to be seen on screen,” said Douglas.

Currently, Douglas and Gupta are also producing the globe-trotting adventure video game Broken Sword with Radar Pictures, while Grevioux recently prepped the indie comics The Pale Horseman and I, Frankenstein, the latter of which is also headed to theaters as a live-action monster movie (SEE HERE).

I for one, can’t wait to see what film production designers can do visually with the work of artist Simon Bisley, who I’ve been a fan of for years.

Covers for the DevaShard comic, including a variant by Frank Cho are available in the link.

I haven't either, but my good friend Dew has just encouraged me to check it out.

It's a comic smash in Hong Kong based on Indian Mythology written by Scotsmen, and is now going to be an American film starring a lycan and written by a Hypester.

How was I suppose to know this? I guess its safe to assume your the girl in the photo with Kevin?

Also should I assume this is going to be some big budget DTV movie? Or are you guys going with a more Kick-ass, Soloman Kane make a good movie and hope it gets picked up kind of deal?

Also...do you need any slave labor(intern) when the movie is shooting?

Oh and good job!:woot:

Nope, we have an executive producer, and a director attached, but I am not allowed to say their names until the press release. I'll give you a couple hints though. They were attached to three out of the following four movies: Tropic Thunder, Pirates of the Caribbean, District 9 and Austin Powers

Well, could you please, please, tell us if it's being made with the idea of a theater release on some scale or just DTV/TV/Internet/VOD?

No matter how long I look at the wikis for all those, not one has anything in common.

Guess I'll just wait.

I think its safe to guess they plan on theater showings based on the movies she mentioned.

We are developing it for wide screen, world wide release with a projected time frame of 2011

Film this sucker at the Screen Gems backlot in Wilmington. I want a job.

The only thing I know from all of this is that is the big guy from Underworld.

Well, no one really films in full screen these days...

2011. Sounds not rushed. Like is it summer, fall, spring, winter, autumn, of 2011?

Yeah, it's like Universal Studios... In India. We're hoping to start shooting there next year before Typhoon Season, HAHAHA, what the **** am I getting myself into?

holy...:wow:. congratulations dew. :yay:

A man who is the son of a god, and a man who is the son of a demon have to save the human world from dark forces that threaten to leave the world of mythology and overwhelm our world... the trouble is, one doesn't remember who he is, and the other remembers all too well.

It looks like Metalocalypse meets World of Warcraft.

Just please dear God don't make it as bad as Dragonball De-evolution:(
