DC is trying to re-live the early 90s: Battle for the Cowl is just like when Azrael took over, and Superman is having characters take over for Superman, just like with Sup's death.)

That's just how events are now aren't they. I mean, honestly, how many of the tie-ins and spinoffs were really significant to Secret Invasion last year? There are a few exceptions I know, but I'd say we could have probably done without a good 1/3 of them or more.

Honestly, I think as far as this events go nowadays Battle for The Cowl is fairly modest. One main 3-issue mini, two fairly standalone 3-issue minis, a few one-shots. Especially when you consider they could have very well made this a 6-8 issue mini, kept the two main Bat-titles going while tying in to Battle and still had all the one-shots and minis

Figures, of course. The week prior is 11 books (albeit two from Image), and this week it is two. It would be nice if printing schedules were more balanced.

There is that DARK REIGN CABAL special, which seems like an aimless one-shot. I'll debate getting it. If if isn't written by Bendis I might consider it further. I've found my Marvel experience increases 90% without reading anything he writes or co-writes (barring the obligatory events, of course). It only took me about 8 years.

I just haven't liked anything with BFTC. I'm not completely up-to-date on the stories. I think I've only read the first four titles that came out, and the rest are starting to build up in my collection; but, I was hoping Azrael would have been better than what I read.

Excited about NOVA, SKAAR, and GREEN LANTERN. UNCANNY X-MEN ended well last issue so this one has me curious. I am excited about THUNDERBOLTS but just because of the Deadpool crossover. I've not been all that impressed with the book since it restarted and I may drop it after the crossover is finished. DARK AVENGERS has been pretty good thus far. And lastly, DARK REIGN CABAL. I figure I'll look through it and decide then if I'll buy it, but probably I'll get it.

Ill be picking up Batman & Robin and Streets of Gotham for sure. More than likely I'll go with Detective, because even though it's Batwoman and Renee as the Question, it's also Rucka, and I'm hoping his stories have the same vibe as his earlier Detective run.

Maybe the Gotham City Sirens too, but we'll see. Screw Judd Winick, though
