A reason I enjoy Vitale: He talked about Julian Wright being a "factor" in a KU game against Texas, but it was so garbled, it sounded like "raptor", so he was called The Raptor for a while.

College hoops is the sun. I love it! I'm still in football mode, but this is a great time of year: football, drinking, basketball getting going, the holidays, drinking.

I can't STAND Vitale.

During the '05 March Madness tournament, when the MSU Spartans made the Final Four, EVERY team they played, he favored over MSU.

"I love Michigan State, I love Tom Izzo, baby, but Old Dominion's gonna win this one!" Result: MSU wins 89-81, on to round of 32.

"I love Michigan State, Tom Izzo is great, baby, but Vermont will steal this one!" Result: MSU wins 72-61, on to Sweet 16.

"I love Tom Izzo, I love the Michigan State program, but Duke will dominate in this one, baby!" Result: MSU wins 78-68, on to Elite 8.

"I love the Spartans, I love Tom Izzo baby, but Kentucky will win this one big-time!" Result: MSU wins 94-88, on to the Final Four.

He did get the "I love MSU, but North Carolina's gonna win baby!" one right (UNC won by 16), but overall, he was WRONG!
