World Did Brandon Routh test for Smallville

This is a legit question, and I in know way wish for this to become a flame war. If it does than I hope the mods close it.

I've heard posters on the Superman boards say that Routh tested for and lost out to Tom Welling. I know that Bosworth tested for Lana but lost to Kreuk, but I had never heard of Routh testing. That would be f-ing hilarious that the two leads in Smallville beat out the two leads in the new movie, not to mention that Michael Rosenbaum kicks Kevin Spacey's ass in the Lex department.

He did test out, I read an inerview or saw one (can't remember) where he stated trying out and loosing to Tom.

Acording to him, he did. Supposedly he was in a good position to earn the role but then it fell through (probably because they found Tom).

Anyhoo, the answer is yes - he auditioned, but wasn't cast.

The Bosworth part is out of left field though. Where'd THAT come from?

But anyway I read that Bosworth tested for Smallville like to weeks after she was cast as Lois Lane. I think Al Gough was the one who said it in an interview.

The 2 luckiest guys in the world at the moment....It worked out just fine. I believe Brandon said he was bummed when he started seeing Toms face everywhere with that 'Jesus-esque' Season 1 campaign. Tom was everywhere in late 01'.


It's too bad Tom and Brandon aren't single....they'd be tearing up the Hollywood nightlife. Picture those 2 going out and the amount of chicks flocking to them!

My God....what I would give to be Tom Welling or Brandon Routh without the girlfriend or wife for a week.

I'm sorry, Venom but saying this stuff won't do anything to further peace between the SR and Smallville camps. Let alone from someone like me who HATES Smallville. How exactly does he "kick Kevin Spacey's ass" in the Lex Department? Is he balder? Richer? More maniacal? Better looking? Please elaborate so I can figure out where the heck you're coming from, dude.
