... or vice versa?

I just would find it interesting if they liked each other takes given the bitter[pathetic] war between some of te fans.

Nolan still likes the Burton films

Bale thinks Keaton is still the better Batman.

I can't find it, but in an interview with Burton he mentioned that he was looking forward to (or enjoyed) seeing Begins, and that he was glad Nolan was delving into the darker aspects. I think it was for Total Film or Empire.

I can't actually imagine Burton being especially impressed by Begins, purely because it's so far from his take on Batman. He's probably think, "Good film but not my cup of tea."

oh and good a mod change the title. WTF did I do?

That's kind of funny that they praise each other.

I remember reading that Nolan liked Batman Returns the best out of all the previous films. I'll find the quote.

Christopher Nolan on Tim Burton's Batman

Nolan on Why the “Batman” Franchise Stalled: “I think that when Tim Burton made his film in 1989, which was a brilliant film, visionary and extraordinarily idiosyncratic, it’s a very, very stylized movie and when you go down that road… I mean to get to four films is pretty impressive because you’re going to hit a dead end at a certain point. I mean it’s so extreme in its approach it’s bound to.”

Tim Burton on Christopher Nolan's Batman

About BATMAN BEGINS: TB: The Christopher Nolan movie I thought was actually really good. He really captured the ‘real’ spirit that these kind of movies are supposed to have nowadays. When I did BATMAN 20 years ago, in 1988 or something, it was a different time in comic book movies. You couldn't go into that ‘dark side’ of comics yet. The last couple of years that has become acceptable and Nolan certainly got more to the root of what the Batman comics are about.”

Yes.

Good finds.

I had read both. I remember one of Burton where he said that he liked Begins and something like he was waiting now (after the perfection of superheroes dark psycho movies) for the return of the campy approach again, with pink and yellow tights. Of course he was kidding.

I didn't know that...do you have the quote?

Christian Bale plays the Caped Crusader in the Batman sequel The Dark Knight,
but he still has high marks for another Batman, Michael Keaton.
Christian was dining at The Grill on June 12 when he spotted Michael,
who starred in the Tim Burton version almost 20 years ago, at another booth.
"Christian sent red wine over to Michael with the note,'You're still the best Batman," a source tells Star.

Now do I know if this is true? idk i got it from caleb in the Bat-World section

Bale once said that Keaton was the Batman he liked best but then added that he was good because of Tim Burton which I thought a bit of a cheap shot to Keaton while kissing Burton's ass (to see if maybe Burton calls him to work on a new project).
I certainly hope that story you told is true because it shows class from Bale.

I hope it is true as it does make Bale sound classy. I would disagree with the note, but I imagine it is easier for a serious actor to enjoy another's work more than their own and despite what fanboys say Michael Keaton and Tim Burton crafted a haunting and memorable incarnation of the dark knight (even if I prefer what Nolan has done).

Also, I liked that article where Burton talks pretty frankly about his Batman movies. It sounds similar to what he said on their DVDs. I think he genuinely liked the films he made, but sounded annoyed with the studio process and hated the crap he had to go through with McDonalds and such. It still sucks that WB basically underhandedly fired him.

In either case I find it very amusing that both Burton and Nolan compliment the other's vision of Batman and yet neither mentions Joel Schumaucher. Oh. :D :p
