Director John Hughes Dies of Heart Attack

John Hughes was the god of 80's coming of age movies. I was hoping he'd make a comeback at some point & blow us all away again. Seems I was wrong. Rest In Peace my friend, you are part of the reason I love & miss the 80's formula of filmaking.

Wow that sucks! :csad:

May he rest in peace.

About 2 weeks ago i praised John Hughes about his style of film making when i reviewed the lacking in charm I love You Beth Cooper.
He wrote and directed his films about teen angst and love with a style that made you actually care about the characters, because little by little between the humor in his films, particularly in Trains,Planes and Automobiles,he would reveal the inner person to the characters that made them more appealing, and charming. Its so sad, that once again i have to say farewell to part of my childhood this year
R.I.P Mr Hughes thanks for entertaining me and millions of others

inspirational to my dreams of being a filmmaker, RIP, Mr. Hughes. Wish he could have directed at least one more movie before he passed.

Loved his movies when I was a kid.

This is all the proof one needs to see that life's not f***ing fair. Of all the filmmakers that had to die, why did it have to be one of the GOOD ones?? Why couldn't it have been one of the s***ty ones like those *****ebags that made all those spoof movies over the last few years like Disaster Movie? Why couldn't death come knocking on the door of those f***ers? I mean, it's cool that Hughes was a guy that retired at the top of his game and all, but I know he had a couple of movies left in him. I believe. He will remain unmatched.

-so sayeth the mastermind-
