Kind of....

"The director's cut is three hours and 10 minutes and comes out in July," Snyder revealed, calling his original edit "considerably more violent than this ... and sexier" and explaining that if the movie does well, the director's cut will get a theatrical release in Los Angeles and New York.

UPDATE
''Warner Bros. is giving Zack Snyder's director's cut of "Watchmen" a limited theatrical rollout one week before Comic-Con International in San Diego.

The cut, which will have an additional 25 minutes of footage including the death of a supporting character, will screen in Los Angeles, New York, Minneapolis and Dallas before the movie is released on Blu-ray and DVD on July 21.''

Yes!
im going to NY in July anyway

If it does well I don't see why it would be considered a good idea to only have it re-released in just two cities.

I like Zack but I can understand why people like chosen1 have beef with him. The first things that come out of his mouth when it comes to the increased length is that it will be "more violent" and "sexier". Why can't he talk about how the story overall can be improved and the dramatic weight increased when certain scenes are added. More violent and sexier. Come on, really?

Hm. If it's still in California in August I might go to see that and Summerslam in one weekend.

Because violence and sex put butts in the seats. Get with the times! :D

Don't judge the book by it's cover :hehe: Remember the first video he put up addressing the fans? That's just the way he talks.

Errrrrrrrrrrrr so what about the Dvd?

I really hope it comes in toronto aswell *crosses fingers*

when did 300 came out on DVD?
cuz most likely its going to come out that same month

From the article in the original post:

"Following that, of course, will be the "Watchmen" DVD in the fall — which will include what he dubbed a "Crazy Ultimate Freaky Edition" boasting such time-omitted extras as "Tales of the Black Freighter," Hollis Mason's death, more Manhattan moments on Mars and dialogue-heavy scenes with the newsstand-bonding Bernies."

I think the DC will be released alongside the theatrical cut on DVD and Blu in July. Unless Snyder said it would come out in theaters first...

That's the ultimate version of the movie, not the theatrical version or the director's cut, which should be out in the summer.

The theatrical release of “Watchmen” is about 2 hours 36 minutes

Collider: What is the final running time on the DVD and what can fans look forward to?

Zack: The final running time without the Black Freighter is 3 hours and 10 minutes.

Collider: So let me ask you, is there footage that isn’t going in this director’s cut that’s sitting on the sidelines…or is this really everything?

Zack: It’s really pretty much everything. The 3 hour version is pretty much everything. There was very little that we shot that I didn’t like or use.
