Who are some directors you would love to see a Star Wars film from?

I would love to see one from Joss Whedon and another from Avay Duverney

Edgar Wright

Brad Bird

The Russo Bros.

George Miller

James Wan

Ava DuVernay is a cool pick. It may hinder on how well her Wrinkle in Time movie does but I have fate in her.

Maybe JJ can put in a good word in for Dan Trachtenberg and Julius Onah from the Cloverfield movies.

It's funny that you should post that because (and I know I'm going to get shouted at for this), I actually wondered what a Bryan singer Star Wars film would look like the other day

Boba Fett
a Taika Waititi film

Starring a young Polynesian actor with Sam Neill, Rachel House and, of course, Waititi as some sort of droid.

Pretty bummed about the announcement from Joe Johnston that the Narnia sequel's going to be his last film. :(

Seems a weird note for a career to go out on, just petering out like that. Even if it's good, nobody's going to give a crap about another Narnia movie, 4th or 5th one, whatever it is.

Sounds like he was their other choice for the Solo film second to Howard, but man would Johnston nail this proposed Boba/smugglers/criminals anthology flick, a swashbuckling pirates & ne'er-do-wells tale with a pulpy vibe. Sort of "deserves" it too, if you want to throw around strong words like "deserve". Given how he started his career.

Would've liked it if he did one of the Star Wars anthology films instead of Narnia. However, Johnston is almost 70. He might want to retire and just be with his family right now.

Then again, he might always go back on that and still make some movies in some capacity.

Right, sure family's a big part of it. Still, plenty of 70 year old directors still working. Lucas aside, most of that 1970s new-wave of guys still is.

Russo Brothers would have made an awesome Star Wars movie. Quite frankly I could have stomached a Star Wars with a weak story, so long as the action scenes were jaw-dropping (like Captain America: Civil War). What we got instead with TLJ was a weak story made even weaker with weak action scenes.

Ehh. The Russos doing a Star Wars flick would just end up looking and feeling exactly like Rogue One, they and Edwards are pretty interchangable stylistically.

Rogue One was awesome, but been there, done that. I also sort of question how good the Russos are in a blockbuster sense without Markus & McFeely, those two guys are the glue.

Alfonso Cauron
Peter Jackson
James Cameron
Matthew Vaughn

Quentin Tarantino

Because why the hell not? If he can do Star Trek, he can do Star Wars.

Peyton Reed
James Gunn
Josh Whedon

Some of my dream choices:

Karyn Kusama, Ava Duvernay, Tim Miller, Dan Trachtenberg, Fede Alvarez, Jeremy Saulnier, Jennifer Kent (though maybe she'd be better off doing an Alien film?)

I would love to see Bioware team up with Lucasfilm to make an Star Wars movie, the cinematics for Star Wars: The Old Republic were amazing.

Those cinematics (which I agree are brilliant) were made by Blur Studios, the owner (and one of the founders) of the company is Tim Miller who directed Deadpool.

Damien Chazelle’s film on the cutthroat world of **** music (no, that’s not a typo).
