Superman Returns Disappointed ? - Iconic PR shot...that was never used.

This was one of the pictures that had many a fanboy salivating , during the PR releases before release.

How disappointed are you that it never made it ?

If you are getting RED X , it is the photo of Superman looking in a mirror, still wearing the Clark disguise.

Yeah i remember when that awesome shot was released and i was disappointed that it wasn't in the movie. Not as bad as i feel about the RTK though.

I think its supposed to this scene where he changes in the closet because he's forgotten his suit. A bit like supes does in the Fleischer cartoon.

there are plenty of iconic moments for me in SR most notably the scene where superman is floating above the planet listening to all the noise traffic and that homage to the first comic when he saves the car.

It is less exciting if the first time we see the Superman suit, he is just in a closet. His intro in the plane scene is much cooler.

It was not a mirror, it was a glass wall (behind the glass, people were watching the TV news on the shuttle disaster, so nobody noticed him coming out and wearing Kent's glasses).

There was too much set up for that shuttle scene regarding Supermans entry - The Bar, drinking with Jimmy, Jack Larsen cameo, running into the street and shirt rip.

That card must be wrong - this scene was meant for somewhere else in the movie and not here.

It does not make sense. Too much was planned for it.

This was shot though and intended for that particular purpose. In a "making of" type feature that was on TV months before Returns came out, there was an actual clip of Superman after exiting the broom closet while everyone was turned looking up at the TV's. The reason you are having trouble with this as well as why it's a problem, it's very ANTICLIMATIC.

I mean, times-a-wastin so it would be dumb to have Clark go back to the closet to get the suit. You can't make the audience laugh (assuming the "oh no I don't have my suit" scene was supposed to be funny) and then expect them to go right back into the drama of the shuttle incident. This is my guess on why it was cut.

There's nothing that looks artificial. Stupid is the persons perception of what is artificial, calling something that is completely other than.
