Disaster Movie

So I went to BoxOfficeMojo and this movie didn't have Wednesday estimates. Did this get pulled from theaters already?

Theaters contractually have to show it for at least 2 weeks. If the stars aligned and the messiah has come, it might mean that it didn't even make the top 10 for Wednesday

I have to say, I kinda liked Meet the Spartans...it was in NO way "good", but some parts had me laughing. I wasn't going to watch it because Epic Movie was so awful (my ex fiance and i rented and just sat there looking at eachother after it was over going "what the fu--?") but a friend forced me to watch it with him. However, I have NO intention of seeing Disaster Movie. They are pumping these crappy movies out waaaay too quickly to even be considered for a viewing. Some one needs to be slapped.

Yeah, this is no movie have see with your girlfriend... at all, neither of them are. However, it's always great to go with good friends of yours to these kinds of films because, the fact that they're so horrible, just means you and your friend(s) can have so much more fun laughing and joking about how stupid it is. I remember me and my friend went to see 'Epic Movie', and we weren't even watching the movie, really. We were sitting in the back, laughing our asses off over nothing but just simply talking to one another. Occasionally, we'd look at the screen, see something incredible stupid, and we'll just say a simple word and start laughing. If you were sitting in the theatre with us, you'd think we're crazy and ask yourselves: "What the %#@&'s with those @$$#@!&s?"

LMAO, this movies made like only 10 million in two weeks.

I have no clue. It's not on wikipedia.

When the hell did movie studios start using DVD sales as a determining factor for making sequels? Because I'm pretty damn sure the movie Serenity flopped at the box office, made a killing in DVD sales, and was still denied a sequel.

Hellboy.

Why doesn't Lucas get off his fat ass & sue these guys for using Indy's name?

He sued fans for making stormtrooper armor, why not these d-bags?

I downloaded the film last night. Did an experiment. How many times did someone get, stabbed, shot, punched, slapped, kicked, stomped etc

Answer=176 times

^ what an experiment!!...makes my elephant poop cleaning job sound like a walk on the beach!

we applaud your bravery

It wasn't easy. I felt like I had to do this important experiment while watching it so my brain cells wouldn't slowly die off. Had to keep thinking.

So just out of curiousity. Were the writers who wrote this piece of trash the ones who were part of the writers strike?

It's not like the writers strike was a group of 5 people mad about money. The entire guild was on strike, aka, everyone, even if some people didn't care about it.

And, I don't know, it's very possible these two guys are part of the un-SAG group of writers who no one respects.

im watching a bootleg of this online, 'cause i had to see the trainwreck for myself and refuse to pay a ticket to get kicked in the cinematic balls, and you know the worst part? i can hear people laughing at these jokes in the background. :o

just finished watching it. for free. i want my money back.

was it true there is a scene spoofing the joker?

Any writer who was a member of the WGA was involved in the writer's strike. I don't know if the "writers" of Disaster Movie (I refuse to acknowledge them as such) are members of the WGA, but I'd assume they were.

But like Geo said...the writer's strike was not about the guys who wrote Disaster Movie wanting more money. It was a bit more complicated than that, and certainly didn't revolve around those idiots.

I'm just glad the movie tanked.

Hmm, I was just thinking that maybe these idiots were part of the strike and everything.

They were in no way responsible for the strike. If the reason for the strike was just because the guys from Disaster Movie (or any other stupid spoof movie), there would have been no strike

In a nutshell, the strike was about including revenue from new media such as DVD sales and the internet, something studios claimed they weren't making money on, but they were.

Basically--when a TV show or movie is rerun on TV with commercials, the writers have always been paid a portion of the ad revenue. Today shows are more available on DVD and on the internet, where you can either buy the show on iTunes or watch it for free with commercials (so the studio is collecting ad revenue). Their old contract doesn't account for that, so the strike resulted when the studios didn't want to include it in the new contract.

The Disaster Movie guys had nothing to do with it.
