Discussion: Congress, The Senate, The House of Representatives - Part I

It's Alabama. They almost elected Roy Moore and now Football Idiot to the Senate after Jeff Sessions.

But it's the midterms. Trump is no longer in office.

Anything can happen next year. I just hope Democrats aren't complacent and turn out in droves to keep the GOP from reclaiming the House and Senate.

Probably actually a staffer or his social media team put the tweet out but it is the same in the end. He had Covid. There is no way his team didn't know.

The Herman Cain Affect all over again.

Maybe since he's white people will care unlike Cain.

Democrats led the popular vote for the House by 4,667,263 votes, but due to gerrymandering like the electoral college, it was closer due to manipulated geography.

I've read that Democrats may lose 6 seats just from new gerrymandering based on redrawing the districts from the new census in 2022.

Republicans should probably retake the house, but I wouldn't be too sure about the senate. If the Dems are going to win, they are going to have to go big with Covid relief, minimum wage, and infrastructure. Jobs and government programs win.

Q/Rs have the advantage in 2022 even the Democrats gave everybody $20,000. The voters of the party in power tend to take a nap and stop voting when they win + new round of gerrymandering based on 2020 census. The Democrats want to take the new 9/11 - 1/6 - and electoral bash the Rs just like the Rs did to the Democrats in 2002 where they picked up seats despite Bush (R) being president.

Yup. They need a popular plan that has yet to pass if they are going to have a chance of holding the house. Motivation is the key.

Congresswoman Nina Turner, please!

And as one of the comments points out:

"Here's a question for the Democrats and, especially, the Majority Leader: How often did the Senate go into recess during World War II? Per "senate.gov" history page, "... the United States Senate remained in session almost continuously ..." during WWII. The country now faces multiple GENERATIONAL crises (Covid, economy, racial inequality, domestic terrorism, Russian hacking into our cyber systems, etc.) and you need to confirm President Biden's nominees - including a new attorney general. And, you need to go home for Valentine's Day?"

Get back to work you ****ing bastards.
