This is absolutely true and it's no wonder people are so critical of the system. The bulk of that criticism belongs squarely on the shoulders of the Manchins, Sinemas, and senate republicans as they are actively blocking important legislation without regarding flat out obstructionism. That being said, there's plenty of blame to go around.

By 2016, 50% of the U.S. population lives in 9 states. The other 50% lives in the other 41 states. The distribution of the general population, the distribution of the educated people, the distribution of the non-white population is not equal across the states and that's a major reason why our system is broken.

Any congressman who supports legislation that puts term limits on the Senate and makes it harder for those serving to profit while serving their country gets my vote and support. Any way to subvert career politicians and regulate lobbying in general through campaign finance reform will help.

She and Manchin have agreed to kill the Democrats legislative agenda for the next 3-7 years unless Arizona gets rid of her and West Virginia gets rid of him.

The need for police reform, Build Back Better and investments in society, voting rights, and a federal law to finally protect reproductive rights after years of SCOTUS rolling it back is not likely to happen with these folks around.

Electing more and better Democrats in 2022 and 2024 in the future is also necessary to reduce their clout outside of legally ejecting them from office.

Since they're doing performative DOA votes Biden should just issue an executive order that all American citizens have the right to vote and are automatically registered at birth. Whether he has the power to do so or the courts kill it is hardly the point.

Senators aren't related to population. That's why we have the House. Frustrating as the consequences currently are, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to have two chambers based on population.

Tho I would argue that perhaps citizens' individual voting rights and the rules of our voting should be determined by the House, and the states' electors' rights and the rules electors follow should be determined by the Senate.

Those people think the Vice President has the power to do things it doesn't just like the wackos that think the Vice President elects the President - same as the Trump insurrectionists who wanted Pence to steal the election for Trump. They are not a Supreme Court Justice, nor do they solely determine the rules of the Senate all by themselves - the majority does.

U.S. Senate: The President of the Senate's Role in the Legislative Process.

Even if the VP's personal opinion is that something is unconstitutional, none of it matters a lick of spit.

John Adams - Vice presidency and presidency

I know people are frustrated - I am too - but they're blaming the wrong people and with the wrong arguments. There just isn't the votes so it's a math problem. A math problem that is likely to get worse in a year.
