I don't want to get my hopes up. The blue wave may be wishful thinking.

 

And Putin/Russia are a part of the OPEC+ cartel.

 

I doubt we'll see those 24 seats go Democrat, as much as I'd like them to.

 

And Republicans will accuse them of fraudulent voting.

 

Fine by me.

 

The percentage of seats Ds need to keep the House is down compared to six months ago. Everything is up in the air.

I do expect to see turnout equal or better than the 2018 midterms. And I can see some upset wins that Rs aren’t expecting if younger voter turnout is far more robust than initial projections.

 

I certainly hope so.

 

Pity that Dems aren't helping Tim Ryan out because he just bodied JD Vance in tonight's debate.

I'm seeing alot of doom and gloom in the past week among the pundit class over Democrats chances, but they said the same type of things 2 years ago in the days leading up to the election 2020 election, and were surprised by the high Democratic turnout even if Republican strongholds like Arizona .

 

Maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised.

 

Arizona is no longer red, it’s purple trending to blue. I’m just so nervous about the 2022 midterms. 2020 was one of the most important elections of our lifetime (voting out the orange menace), but this year— everything is on the line.

Updated my table of House election results; added 1962-1980, fixed out-of-date link to estimated election turnout rates from US Elections Project. All vote and seat data from Election Statistics: 1920 to Present | US House of Representatives: History, Art & Archives. I also added the initials of each incumbent president during each election. I reduced the decimal places from 2 to 1 to make it more consistent across and cleaner to read.

I hope she does.

 

I'm guessing she will. She doesn't want to be remembered as weak, which she could be accused of being if she quits after her husband's attack. It's going to be a very tense Congress and the Dems will want a tried and tested Speaker.
