The law of unintended consequences strikes again. This is similar to how child porn charges are filed against children who take nude selfies and then get prosecuted for it instead of maybe taking a more appropriate approach to handling teenagers doing things they aren't mature enough to do yet. Throwing them in jail feels like excessive punishment and a failure of the system. Also, bonus, this mainly affects black and brown children more than white ones.
 
Sounds like cruel and unusual punishment putting someone through this 9 times and 3 "last meals."
