Don't be surprised when the winning margin between Trump and Harris is either roughly equal to each other or smaller in Texas in 2024.

I have relatives in Florida and visit every few years. It's the weirdest state in the United States and the the new capital of MAGAstan as Trump/DeSantis's home state and the Democratic Party of Florida is a joke.

My hopes for a purple Texas were dashed in 2020. Trump bungling COVID wasn't enough to make a full on blue wave happen then I'm not sure anything will. But good luck guys. I voted for Robert in 2018 for the Senate and voted again for Governor, but dammit Abbott and his ilk still have a stranglehold on the state through a mix of voter suppression and border fear mongering.

Reminder that after election day CA and NY take a long time to count all their votes - takes weeks - and count all the absentee and military ballots. PA since they still haven't updated the law to allow counting mail voting ballots before election day will also take a week as was the case in 2020.

The fact that TX allows for no excuse mail voting ONLY if you’re 65+ and doesn’t accept college student ID at the polls shows that they are panicking. Texas Rs are winning the short term battle but losing the long term war.

When TX eventually flips blue (legislative and governor’s mansion) like Virginia did, TX Ds will definitely push through a slew of progressive legislation. The first two things they should change is implementing no excuse mail voting to any voter (with the option to be on a permanent mail voting list) and codifying abortion rights into state law.

I don't respect the betting websites all that much. Shaprio was the VP pick until he wasn't, etc. There's wild swings on the last day before decisions are actually made like that one or election day 2020.

Though it's not far from where I had the race before the VP announcement: 250~280 EVs for Harris. Maybe it's now 255~285.

They were pretty close until Shapiro dropped the ball by treating it as an audition to launch his presidential campaign according to the press.

More luck for us. If Donny was smart he would be saving his vacation for after the election. Good thing he's stupid. Either that or his people are afraid he'll have more "sundowner" mistakes.

Donny campaigned in Montana of all states last night for the R Senate candidate (who has problems himself). He was 2.5 hours late, the arena was half empty (per usual) and his supporters were walking out during his speech.

I would look at the early votes for November. I expect there will be a healthy VBM / early in person turnout for the constitutional amendments and presidential race. Primaries don’t usually get much turnout.
