🇺🇸 Discussion: General Election 2024, 🥥 VS 🍊

My FB feed is like 90% Kamala and 10% Trump
Everyone i know who voted for Trump are co-workers, none of my friends or family voted for him, all voted for Kamala, im trying to convince my undecided friend to vote for Kamala and Sherrod Brown.

I voted in person because I'm paranoid my vote will be canceled from some clerical error or by the Supreme Court if I vote by mail.

But I've been lucky enough to always have a short wait in person.

My husband just went. Overfull parking lot, but quick in and out.:)

The worse R areas do in Election Day turnout the better, though as Tom Bonier has said some Republicans have shifted to early voting and some Democrats have shifted to E-day voting, no longer fearing the pandemic.

Whatchoo tryna say??
I always liked your old avy and thought it was appropriate for election night celebrations. :funny:
Voted for Kamala Harris, don't generally like her, often don't really approve of her, hasn't made much case for why the next 4 years would be better but she did make a case that the last 4 years were better than the previous 4 years and Trump is just way too extreme and intolerant as well as opportunistic on way too many issues including yes just denying and not accepting when he doesn't win, from that I want the election to be as not-close a win for Harris as possible.
I was sort of wondering how you'd vote. You always struck me as the rational conservative type. Personally, I don't have a lot of policy differences with her so my choice was pretty easy (I actually wish she'd go further than the positions she's staked out). I don't think she's particularly charismatic (but she's clearly gotten a lot of coaching and has improved in that department), but I don't really care about that. I'm a policy wonk.

This is the first time I voted by mail. I was jumping rope and my achilles tendon decided it didn't need my calf muscle anymore. It healed up nicely without surgery, but I was in a boot for a while. Our polling place is about 2 blocks away at the Rec Center in Mar Vista Park, but I didn't really feel like walking cause the doctor told me it was a no no unless absolutely necessary.

It matters more THAT you voted, not the how. :)

President Joe Biden is in an echo chamber as far as his foreign policy goes and that’s something I really hope Harris changes with a team of mixed views.

I see her adding both Liz Cheany and Adam Kenzinger to her administration, both are rational republicans and she said she would have republicans in her administration, both make sense

Good move. :)

In PA, of there is an issue with your ballot when it comes in, then they have to contract you and offer you the chance to make a provisional ballot. No one ever contacted me so I'm all good

The cool thing about my mail-in vote in CA is that a few days after I sent it in, I hopped on to a website that gave me an updated status of my ballot (received and counted).

All the states should do that.
