Discussion: Global Warming and Other Environmental Issues

Read what you posted again HUMAN. China is pumping out CO2 and it had its coldest winter in 100 years. Do we want to live in another Ice Age?

Plus, Al Gore didn't start this so why sue him? This has no legal standing and is yet another dumb lawsuit.
Well, the brunt of the lawsuit has to do with the selling of carbon credits. Basically, they want to sue him for being a hypocrite.

...which again has no legal basis unless you could prove that he didn't actually believe the stuff he has said, or rather, that he knew it was false. I highly doubt they could ever prove that, and I highly doubt that it's true.

I'm sick of repeating myself. I never said nothing should be done. I've said the opposite. What I have said is that we don't need to do all of these things these people are telling us. Some things should be done to help this planet, and some should not. Such as buying carbon offsets and the like. Stop misrepresenting what I've said.

I'm not buying this "even if nothing ever happens" junk. That totally negates your arguments. So if these people are selling us a load of crap, we're supposed to buy it "just in case"?

If you want to be the blind man, go follow the shepherd. Me, my eyes are wide open.
And I never said everything the government and these people want to do is 100% right:wow:

And not preparing for the worst and hoping for the best is living blind:o

Yes, let's prepare for the worst. Hell, some day a nuke could be detonated in Atlanta. Perhaps I should start building a fallout shelter and stocking up.

And by the way, I used to be a proponent of Anthropogenic Global Warming. That is, until I began to look more deeply into the matter. Until I began researching the science and agendas behind it.

And after doing so, my beliefs changed. My thoughts on the subject did a complete 180.

I changed my mind.

Go ahead...it's not an idiotic idea by any means. But I can bet you would be damn happy if you ever had to use it:o

Yeah and after we move it a couple million miles away from the sun. :woot:

Actually the main problem would be atmospheric pressure, but heat is up there. Still unlike mars venus has a gravity that would allow humans (in suits or specilized cities, mind you) to inhabit the planet for more than a year without serious deteriation in their health. I would think it would be easier to shield from extreme heat, then to generate artifical gravity.

I will trade you my 5 carbon credits for the rest of your snack pack.

It's been fun, but now I have to leave work.

...to be continued...

How about we just build our own Death Star?

Soo are we like the presidents of our yet to be built Death Star?

This page is mainly a debunking site for the Documentary "The Great Global Warming Swindle," but it touches on the evidence put forth by deniers posted here. He also posts what he calls "legitimate evidence" at the bottom of the page.

Opinions?

I've read it, but I think I'd need to see the other, "pseudo," documentary before I can say for sure what I think. So far, however, it looks completely reasonable.

EDIT: Whoa...it'll be hard for the anti-climate change people argue all of those points...especially considering he's taken nearly all of their primary points and crapped all over them. I wanna see a response...

maybe the people dead set against global warming should now that the larger part of scientific information points towards it not being created by man, but by it being accelerated by man, influencing the process to the tune of 25%.

25% man has an impact on a GLOBAL process to the tune of 25%.

think about that.

^We deffinately are causing change through all of our emissions, clear cutting, and terraforming.
