If the pro Trump union leader thought this strike would go in his guy’s favor… it blew up in his face. Very happy with this.
Not as familiar with Longshoremen as I am other unions, but I did know quite a few of their (very left leaning members in SF and San Pedro) courtesy of my union mentor, who was in the Merchant Marines in WWII. I'd be very, very interested in just why this happened and I suspect pressure from the bottom up is the reason. ILA is more of a traditional top down union, but maybe their leader doesn't represent them as well as he should.

Apparently, it will start back up in January. This is a win-win for them because no matter who wins the election they will get a deal due to the Union president is friends with Trump or Kamala will push for a good deal to show she's pro-union.

It’s a black eye for Trump’s last minute attempts to swing the election his way.

Which is the best possible outcome.
Yes, happy to hear the strike seems to be over, its something that the country didnt need right now, especially with the disaster in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Florida, ive seen a large Federal government presense, but there are so many rural areas that were destroyed that it will take months to get to everyone effected.

I wonder how this will affect rural turnout in FL, NC, and GA.....

I dont know, if you listen to the Maga cult, Biden directed FEMA to change the course of the Hurricane to strike red states, so theres that.

What he should have done was borrow Trump's Magic Marker and kept FEMA out of the loop. That would have aroused less suspicion.

Ive had the misfortune to see alot videos showing the aftermath of the storm in extremly remote areas and the comments would make you lose all faith in humanity, just ignorant comments about how the government has no money because they give it to illegials or Ukraine, or that Trump will save them because Kamala has no idea how to manage this now, even though she has no authority to do anything of the sort as vice president, on and on and on about hate against Biden and democrats, none of which is even remotely true, yet there are thousands of comments saying the same things over and over in every video, "where is the army or FEMA?" Biden said he doesnt have any money to help, just stupid comments, it literally gives me a headache reading all those because you realize just how stupid people really are.

To paraphrase a certain symbiote from a Sony franchise you secretly love, **** that guy. :sym:
:funny: Well, the main thing is that the strike is over for now and those people who desperately need supplies will, hopefully, have access to them. Now congress needs to get off their asses and give FEMA the aid it's been asking for and needs to help people.
