Those people have never been to Amsterdam.

Very little chaos and anarchy there.

Of course, there is absolutely no reason for it to be illegal considering alcohol is legal.

Vermont Senate votes to decriminalize marijuana

MONTPELIER, Vermont — The Vermont Senate has approved legislation that would remove criminal penalties and replace them with civil fines like a traffic ticket for possession of up to an ounce of marijuana.

By a vote of 24-6, the Senate on Tuesday gave preliminary approval to a bill similar to one that already has passed the House.

The Senate version has some differences from the bill that passed the House, among them that fines would increase for a second or third and subsequent offenses.

The Senate bill also contains a provision under which someone profiting from the sale of marijuana could face enhanced penalties for not paying taxes on the income from drug sales.

Aye. People are getting wise. The DEA love to talk a big game but after a point they simply won't have the manpower or ability to back it up.

But that's ok, there are still plenty of legitimately dangerous narcotics out there for them to concentrate on without wasting vast amounts of resources chasing potheads.

If and once the US legalizes it, I am guessing many countries will follow. It was basically the US strong arming every other country into making it illegal in the 60s

Well it's not exactly a ban. One measure would limit the # of dispensaries to the original 135, the other would allow any number but tax them more heavily.

Nah the formaldehyde is just for flavor. The cyanide when burned gives it that awesome, noir-ish blue tint to the smoke. All perfectly necessary ingredients for the serious smoker.
