Democrats did crappy in (especially off year) elections when Obama was president (reelected) and Republicans did crappy when Trump was president (not reelected). So it should be a positive portend for the incumbent party (Democrats, Biden) in the future. Rs had quite the misguided optimism that Obama was going to be defeated in 2012.
