My take on it is that MAGA and MAGA leaning people make well over half of the Republican Party, so they nominate nut jobs. Then when the general comes around, they have a much more difficult time. I mean Doug Jones actually won an election for senate in freaking ALABAMA because they couldn't distinguish the republican nominee (Moore) from Jeffrey Epstein.
