From what I've heard, Latinos don't even like Rubio just because he's Hispanic. But I won't be surprised if he throws his hat into the ring and tries to run for presidency in 2016.

Kind of like how women didnt like Palin, I tend to think latinos will not just run to Rubio. He is a tea partier, branding the demographics into groupings based on stupid assumptions they will just vote for whoever is their ethnicity is a laughably offensive notion.

And if you use the Herman Cain argument, the same can be said about Hillary Clinton who couldn't win her primary either, and everyone thinks the women's vote is going to be the x-factor if she runs again.

hillary lost to a freakishly effective candidate. Latinos, like women, like blacks, aren't stupid. They will not all just randomly support someone who looks like them. Some will, but the majority will all be liberals.

Blacks generally vote around 90% or more for Democrats.

Latinos aren't a united group. You've got Mexicans (which can be subdivided further into Chicanos and more recent immigrants), you got Puerto Ricans, you've got Central Americans, and then you have Cubans.

That being said, where Rubio might not pull 93% of the Hispanic vote, its gonna help. Romney was pretty much null and void in that demographic, and as many have said, while Obama had an electoral beatdown on Romney, he was close in the individual battleground states, close enough that stronger support from a demographic like Latinos could have flipped. I dont think Rubio would need to pull 93% or anywhere close... Just more than 20% or whatever Romney pulled.

Of course I dont know much about Rubio or his policies. I think I saw one thing he said that I didn't like and I dont even remember what it was.

I wouldn't suggest that any voting demographic is "stupid" just cuz a candidate looks like them, it is a factor. And a significant one at that. Maybe its not enough to make liberal Latinos vote Rubio, but it could sway more central / undecided.

They are currently the ruling party of Canada, with a majority of members in the House of Commons. Perhaps the GOP should copy other right wing parties in the western World.

Romney's problem was that he took photo ops with people like Joe Arpaio, and said that Arizona's immigration law should be a model for the country.

That would make anyone who speaks Spanish nervous.

He made Rick Perry look like a moderate. At least when it came to immigration.

Its funny how the Republicans cling to 2010 as evidence that Obama was hated. They took back the house. IIRC, most expected significantly greater gains than they got, though.

I just saw an O'Reilly clip on Youtube basically blaming Sandy for Romney's loss. That he was on track to win, had the momentum, then disappeared during Sandy, while Obama got the coverage. If this is any indicator, they're not learning anything. It wasn't Obama's race to lose. Obama is the one that should have been in the fragile position. Romney's stances against women's rights, and imigration alone made a huge difference. If Romney had kept McCain's latino vote, let alone not have had such a huge gap amongst women voters, it would have made a lot of difference. Republican's are getting more extreme on key issues, and they're getting voted out for it. Just look at Mourdoch, and Akin. Or how Bacchman was withing like 500 votes of losing her seat.

My brain hurts even trying to imagine that...

Part of me likes that would provide the best year of political comedy ever. The other part is afraid that if they would do as well as Romney, that brand of idiocy would be seen as a winning strategy in the future. I'd rather the presidency not become like California's governor race from a bit back (Arnold, a porn star, Gary Coleman, Jerry Springer, ect).

That much radiation is just going to make Rush stronger.

I think that unless San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro decides to run against him, Cornyn is going to be easily re-elected, but who knows: maybe change is near in Texas. It has been nothing but status quo in Texas for the last decade: Rick Perry as Governor, David Dewhurst as Lt. Governor, Greg Abbott as Attorney General and Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison as Senators. Now, Hutchison is retiring, replaced by Ted Cruz.

Plus a lot of the Congressmen in my part of Texas all got easily re-elected.

Not that soon, if at all. She's only 27 now, and I can't imagine her being ready for public office by her 35th birthday. Besides, I think she enjoys writing and blogging.

Even a politician who died before the election got re-elected. Seems Texans like their incumbents.

Both work together to make sure 3rd parties can't win, so I want both to go away, but Democrats don't anger me. I dislike them...well the party....the GOP on the other hand...I really really want the LP to grow, I see growth happening...and I hope the GOP doesn't become Libertarian, because I don't trust them...take our platform, lie to us, then piss on it, that is what they would do. There is a reason the LP was formed...and now it is starting to take off...broke 1 million votes for the first time in a election...now can we get that to turn into a surge? I think so, I have some faith.
