Fantasy Disney Developing Live-Action 'Snow White' (Exclusive)

Okay...well how about a Song of the South remake? That's probably not too likely.

Yeah, I'd say that one would have no chance.

I'd also like to say having done research on the man, Walt's not a racist. He may have not been the best judge of material though due to the times.

i like disney but they got to be the safest studio in the business

but it bleeds them money so what do i know lol

Don't expect Disney to do anything outside of Marvel, Star Wars, Live action Fairy tales and their animated stuff.

They are still traumatized by the box office of John Carter, Lone Ranger, Tomorrow Land, Prince of Persia, BFG etc...don't expected much original live action stuff from them.

I think another reason they are giving a green light to so many of their live action fairy is because most of them don't have sequel potential. Alice 2 box office was a warning sign.

I'm more interested in this one than most of them (The Lion King just sounds like a bad idea), but it's about time they really sell the "fairest of them all" aspect. Like cast Victoria Justice or somebody.

And maybe Laura Benanti for the Evil Queen. But then the Snow White actress should be hotter than her, because that's how the story goes.

Didn't already have have like 2 live action Snow White movies??

Those weren't Disney movies.

Snow White and the Huntsman was Universal. Mirror Mirror was Relativity Media. And neither were good Snow White films.

I actually loved Snow White and the Huntsman, but it's pretty far removed from whatever this is likely to end up being.

The casting of the seven dwarves should be interesting. Pretty sure Peter Dinklage will be in there somewhere.

They might just make tall actors short digitally like they did in the Huntsman.

I'm a big fan of Disney's late seventies to late eighties period in which they were open to more experimental, dark and mature movies. I think that period was underrated.

Movies like Escape to Witch Mountain, The Black Hole, Tron, Watcher in the Woods, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Flight of the Navigator and Return to Oz.

They may either do that or just make all the dwarves mocap.

Can't wait to see this in live-action:

seems like apart from it's marvel and lucasfilm divisons disney is more and more with live action films mainly making live action versions of animated hits.

Wonder how long it will take Disney to get to the Home on the Range-remake :p

I want to see the Queen's transformation. That scene traumatized my childhood, it was like my heart stopped beating but I couldn't look away.

Hello there.

I guess they could use, um, regular actors for the dwarves a la Peter Jackson.

How are they going to handle Dopey though?? Assuming they're going to use the classic dwarf characters...

Vin Diesel is...Dopey the Dwarf

As long as we get to see the wicked witch cackling while going inside a trap door, I'm game

Live Action Snow White fan cast

Snow White- Ariel Winter
The Prince- Logan Lerman
Evil Queen- Olivia Wilde
Eric The Huntsman- Daniel Radcliffe

I love the idea of Disney making live-action remakes, truly.
Still, they just already did this, more or less, with Snow White and the Huntsman.
Charlize Theron was perfect as The Evil Queen. So, it sucks she was wasted.

I think this is one they should bypass. Between the two other films
and Once Upon a Time, Snow White is, kind of, overdone at this point.

Marc Webb Eyed to Direct Disney’s ‘Snow White’ Remake (EXCLUSIVE)

While the deal isn’t finalized, sources tell Variety that Webb is the top choice to helm the movie.

“The Girl on the Train” screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson is in negotiations to pen the script for “Snow White,” which will expand upon the story and music from the 1938 animated classic. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the duo behind “La La Land,” “The Greatest Showman,” and “Dear Evan Hansen,” will write new songs for the movie. Marc Platt is on board to produce.

He is also attached to direct the Americanized remake of Your Name.

Has that been shelved then?? If it's still on the table then I wonder which one will go on the floors first.

We don't really need a Snow White remake but whatever, Webb wouldn't be a bad choice for it. 500 Days of Summer is one of my favorite romantic comedies and I don't care what anyone says, The Amazing Spider-Man was... okay. Plus he already has experience directing movies about people who sing with birds.

It's too bad the movie will still suck. :o

Well, it doesn’t really have a high bar to meet when it comes to live-action Snow White fare. I’m sure it’ll easily be the best one, for whatever that’s worth.

I mean Snow White and the Huntsman wasn’t bad but wasn’t good either. And the less said about Mirror Mirror the better.
