Traditional animation, not CGI. They said in the Pixar Story that Disney wouldn't close down their traditional animation dept. 'cause they had more to do and it was important and all that but haven't seen anything from them in years.

Not just Disney but any animated movie would be cool if done well, I miss painted movies, I'm so tired of CGI. Pixar is good but that's it. Everyone else just jumped on the frickin' band wagon years ago trying to be Pixar but they never came close, and Shrek 1 was the only good one, the rest were just crap focusing on garbage story lines just to bring in stupid low rate stars like Justin Timberlake.

CGI's really not a big deal, sure if done right it looks good but when it comes to a cartoon I miss a real cartoon, they're so much more beautiful.

What was the last animated movie anyway, Lilo and Stitch in '02?!

Disney used to have a new one every summer now nothing unless it's Pixar, which is fine but I miss movies like Titan A.E., and Hercules, and so on.

Bring back the traditional animation people!!!

my favoiters are:
a goofy moive
sword and the stone

bad spelling galore...were you rushing when you typed this out?

and besides two of the 60s movies, what about the older Disney films?

I would love to see a full length version of the cartoon short "Lambert The Sheepish Lion".

I wish Disney had done sequels to the Ducktales movie.

Ducktales was one of my favorites growing up. Along with all the duck shows, Darkwing Duck was great. I also like Chip and Dales Rescue Rangers.

Interestingly, another Disney project, Rapunzel, while a CGI movie, is attempting to blend and achieve the appeal of traditional animation by giving the movie a hand-drawn effect.

Taken from Wikipedia:

The movie's visual style will be based on the painting "The Swing", by the French Rococo artist Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Because director Glen Keane wanted this to be an animated movie that looked and felt like a traditional hand-drawn Disney Classic in 3D, he first had a seminar called "The Best of Both Worlds", where he, with 50 Disney animators (CGI artists and traditional artists), focused on the pluses and minuses of each style.

P.S.: Does anyone else find it a tad comedic how the title of the Disney-run seminar was 'The Best of Both Worlds'?

Heres hopin' for Osmosis Jones 2... The most under-rated of under-rated movies...

I would love for CGI to take a break for a few years...or longer. I've never been a big for of that type of film. Traditional animation FTW!

Fox had Titan A.E.
They also have The Fantastic Mr.Fox in November which is a stop motion film directed by Wes Anderson with George Clooney.

If Disney can make money I'm sure they'll bring them back.
King of the Elves in 2012 will be a 2D-traditional animated/live-action/CGI-animated film.

disney is coming out with something traditional this year i think but can't remember the name.

After Frog Princess, Rapunzel will be the next "traditional" Disney flick, to an extent. Here's some test footage.

Speaking as a 2d animator; AMEN!!!

That's beautiful.

I'm just wondering if there's going to be anymore traditional animated films from Disney after The Princess and the Frog? Because so far, from what I've read, it's all CGI (Rapunzel) unless 2011's King of the Elves is traditional too.

I think with Rapunzel, Disney is trying to bridge the aesthetic gap between CGI and traditional animation.
