[With Marvel] we’ve taken back distribution, or bought back distribution from [Viacom Inc.'s] Paramount, for some critical franchises. Notably, “Iron Man 3″ will be distributed by us, and “Avengers.” We’re developing three live-action series for ABC and ABC Family. You can buy Marvel products at Disney stores. And we’re working on Marvel games.

So what do you want to see? I wonder which company Marvel will work with? I hope we get a really awesome Avengers game, not neccessarily based on the movie or the cartoon series. Something as epic as Call of Duty or Arkham Asylum.

I want them to regain the X-Men and Spider-Man license and then put a good developer to work on those titles, and i dont want to see yearly installments of them either.

I hope they get the rights from Sega.

I hope they get the rights from Sega.

I hope so too. Sega has already made their ill intentions for their Marvel licenses quite well known. Hopefully, Disney pays Sega to cancel their POS-looking Captain America and Thor games and then uses the licenses themselves to produce decent games, and retrieves Iron Man as well. After Iron Man 2 Sega should never be trusted with a licensed game again, at least not the way things are right now. That game SHOULD have been canceled, but Sega, being a bunch of greedy bastards decided to release it anyway and charged full price for it.

Yeah, Sega is just terrible right now, and I just can't fathom the reason why Marvel would let them develop their games, when there are much better game companies out there (even EA). I'm not sure whether Disney will be good or not, but I hope they can get the rights back from Sega, and then hire some great development studios to make the games.

How ironic would it be if a Captain America game ended up being developed by Propaganda Games? :D

heh, that would be crazy.

I think the reason Marvel hasn't really been at the top of the industry in terms of great comic book games is because there's a head of Marvel movie making (Feige) and a head of television (Loeb) and a head of comics (Quesada and then Brevoort as Quesada got promoted) but there isn't really a head of a video game media at Marvel so there's noone who's job it is to keep an eye on things.

I'm sure there's got to be a few CEO's of impressive video game companies who also love comic books enough for there to be a position avaliable. Anyway, we'll have to wait and see.

I hope they would still be open to do crossover games like MvC. I want more MvC games & maybe, eventually a Marvel vs DC game. :D

I want an Avengers game based on the new cartoon. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

I'd definitely love to see an Avengers game. Either based on the comics or the new cartoon. Captain America is already doomed since it's being developed by Sega, as is Thor, even though we haven't seen any gameplay of it. Let's just hope that Sega hasn't already started working on an Avengers game and that Disney can get those rights back. At least we might get one proper Movie tie-in game.

Someone suggested that back when Disney bought out Marvel and fanboys cried a river

Just like FF fans did when KH was first announced.

I hope Disney does get the Marvel movie license. Sega is absolute ****.

I hope they do a racer with the Marvel liscense. Disney doesnt make many big games but they do make decent racing games. Pure and Split/Second were both pretty good games. Ive wanted to see them tackle a Marvel racing game. And no, not a cart racer, but something more serious, visually looking like Split/Second.

Just imagine the tracks based on different Marvel locals and set pieces from stories throughout its history. There could be a Spidey themed level featuring a race around NY, tropical Africa race around Black Panther's Wakanda, Utopia and San Francisco for the Xmen. You can have something like Secret Invasion with the heroes fighting the Skrulls in the background and they can alter and destroy the track, thus adding a level of difficulty, etc...

The cars would be based on different characters, each with its own unique ability and special move. Invisible Woman's can go invisible if she takes no damage or hits a wall for a certain amount of time. Spider-man's can drop web traps which slow down anyone that drives over them. Wolverine's can slowly regenerate health from damage taken. Thor's can shoot out a radial burst of lightning, damage anyone within his vicinity.

A seperate mode outside of the racing would be a vehicular combat mode where its Twisted Metal style with every car out to destroy each other. I think it could be a cool idea that could work.

I'd really love a Knight of the Old Republic style RPG. The whole 616. Start with The Invaders or something then advance through the ages. Eventually picking teams of your own liking. More RPG than Alliance was.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

This is the biggest problem with the Disney/Marvel merger, Disney Interactive is severely limited with what they have because all of the major franchises have been taken. THQ has a multi-year deal with Marvel for the Super-Hero Squad. Sega has a multi-year deal for Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man. Activision Blizzard has the rights to Spider-Man and the X-Men until 2017. And Gazillion Entertainment has MMO rights.

I guess Disney could get Warren Spector to make a Fantastic Four game

SEGA stinks when it comes to Marvel games, I also find it funny that they showed more footage of the Captain America game and next to nothing of the THOR game. That's not a good look on SEGA's part, and I too hope that some way Disney snatches the rights from them.

I doubt that Disney has high priorities for Captain America and Thor since Paramount is still going to distribute those films and those games are in full on development.

I think they're more focused on Iron Man and the Avengers since the Disney label will be all over those movies.

They just need to get the rights back for Avengers. That's all I care about. The games about the separate characters, Hulk, Ironman, Thor, Cap, are all doomed. At least save the team-up game. Come on Disney, you can do it. Wave the mighty dollar.

Yeah unfortunatly it's too late for Cap and Thor, but hopefully I finally get an awesome Iron Man game out of all this.

Ultimate alliance type game with the Avengers would be awesome.

Disney may not to be able to do anything with that bc Activision has the liscense to release that genre with the Marvel characters. The best we can get in the forseeable future is for Activision to give the Avengers their own dedicated game

The reason they're bad isn't because Sega is making them, it's because they're movie tie-ins. So they have a hard date to come out at the same time as the movie, therefore, development is shorter and they won't have enough time to polish it. Sega didn't do the Fantastic Four movie games, but they were crap as well, which they shouldn't have been considering it used the X-Men/Ultimate Alliance formula. Even if Disney gets the rights to Avengers, it'll likely follow the trend because it'll be made in the same rushed manner.

Short development time is one reason but the developers making those games suck. FF was made by the team. Sega outsourced their tie ins to crap developers. They didnt give it to their A or B teams. With more time, I cant have seen a game like Iron Man being much better bc the basic design of it was heavily flawed. The amount of time given is just as important as who makes it and if the developers are subpar, one cant expect the games to be decent especially if they dont have anything in their resume which might support something differently
