Cool. First official image I take it?
Oh dear....This image has confirmed my worst fears. Joss Whedon seems to live in a universe where pretty much everybody is white (though there's always room for a sexy "exotic" lady or two in Whedonverse, a quota Ming-Na seems to fill, like Summer Glau before her in Firefly). Whedon has always been this way, and it's actually annoying.
J. August Richards, Dichen Lachman and Harry Lennix as well.
Semper... just stop.
What color is the mutha****in' head of SHIELD again....? I keep forgetting.

I think that's what a lot of people would like to see happen. Myself included.I would like to see Maria Hill join the show in season 2. How I Met Your Mother is ending next season so I hope after that, she moves on to Agents of Shield.
Big whoop, four out of seven characters are white, what's the issue? Fact of the matter is caucasian is the most dominant race in America, there's nothing wrong with there being more white actors than actors of color. It's not as if POC are neglected in this show. Are you telling me Ming-Na, Chloe Wang, and J August Richards don't count?Sam Jackson's Nick Fury is not a regular on this show, so it's irrelevant. As far as this TV SHOW's format is concerned, Agent Coulson is the leader of SHIELD and it's mostly white agents.
It's 2013. This stuff is getting tired.
J. August Richards isn't pictured because his role is, and I quote, "TOP SECRET." Not because his role not important. Him being pictured would reveal the role that we're not supposed to know yet.How could they release a main cast photo this lacking in diversity? I know J. August Richards is supposed to be in this, but he's obviously not important enough to feature in this main cast picture, so it's a worry. And at this stage, I think he'll seem like a token. There's no reason this has to be another Whedon show almost entirely focused on the snarky witticisms of white people.

You shouldn't watch it.

I read that the population of non-latino whites in America is 63%. If you include the latinos that consider themselves white however, the number increases even more.Singularly yes, as a whole no. There are more "minorities" than Caucasian people.
the thing that's getting tired in 2013 is people on the internet acting like hiring white actors for a role is an act of racism.
It's replacing the USA bashing of 2012.
2014 is going to be Crimes against Mimes.
I'm black and I'm completely fine with this. A cast doesn't always need an obligatory black guy just because.Oh dear....This image has confirmed my worst fears. If you'd expect any Marvel based show to have strong diverse cast, it'd be a show about S.H.I.E.L.D.

Frankly the mimes deserve every bad thing they get.

Agreed, I don't see many people taking issue with this.
Every time this race issue comes up people conveniently ignore the fact that Chloe Bennett is a Chinese-American.
