Back in February,we reported that Disney wants to release a new hand-drawn animated movie every two years. The Princess and the Frog is already out in theaters, with an 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and is set to expand nationwide this weekend. But what's next for Disney? We've heard rumblings of other projects in the works and, of course, the new Winnie the Pooh movie will be hand-drawn, but is there more? Brendon Connelly from SlashFilm got a small update on another new hand-drawn Disney project called The Snow Queen. It's apparently an old project that fell apart a few years back and has been dusted off again recently.

Here's the quote (via SlashFilm) from producer Peter Del Vecho talking about what's next for Disney:

"So right after The Princess and the Frog, the crew actually first goes onto Winnie the Pooh… After that, the next full-length feature is Snow Queen. Our [animators] are looking forward to getting started on that. And then of course Ron [Clements] and John [Musker] have another project coming up which they've asked me to produce, and we'll go into development on that one pretty much next spring."

I just read about that story recently. I wondered why it hadn't been adapted before by Disney.

I watched this last night. I have to say, it lived up to the praise. It was right up there with some of the best of the Disney Renaissance. However, besides Let it Go, I didn't think the songs were all that memorable. But it didn't have much of an effect on the film for me because "not memorable" doesn't mean "not good". Between "Tangled", "Wreck-It Ralph" and now "Frozen", Disney has been outdoing Pixar's recent efforts, and it probably has the Best Animated Feature Oscar in the bag.

^ glad you liked it!!

and I, too, hope Frozen wins Best Animated Feature Oscar.

I agree that Disney Animation has been outdoing Pixar since Cars 2. Not to say that I don't like unfocused Brave or Monsters Uni. They were just not that remarkable.

I agree about the songs. I didn't think they were as memorable as the ones from tangled. But anyway the movie was fantastic.

And boy were there some beautiful visuals or what?

Ouside of "I see the Light" and maybe "Mother Knows Best" Tangled's songs arent all that amazing I actually enjoyed Frozen and The Princess and the Frogs songs better.
And I honestly wouldnt be suprised if Disney lost the Animated Feature Oscar especially after they lost to Pixar last year, Wreck-it-Ralph is a much better movie than brave.

I think the frozen songs were more "broadway" sounding maybe. And they flowed from dialogue into singing more than tangled and the other disney films.
My favorite tangled song is the one they sing in the bar with the thugs. Lol. I love that. Also the one she sings while she is alone in the tower

Took my two younger sisters to see this and they absolutely loved it. And even I really thought it was great. Stunning animation and 3D.

Eww, I hate that song, lol. I like the one she sings in the tower though but its not exctly the best of Disney. I've actually been listening to "Ma Belle Evangeline" from Princess and the Frog and "Let it Go" from frozen alot lately.

Saw it today with my wife it was good not sure if I liked it better then tangled

"Friends on the Other Side" was a fantastic villain song.

It is I love that song and the scene. I was watching 'Beauty and the Beast: An Enchanted Christmas" and Forte's "Don't fall in Love" song is amazing.

Watching Little Mermaid on Disney Channel now, and you do see that they basically just went with the character design for Ariel when making Rapunzel and Anna.

“In Summer” was another great song I thought.

It was funny, but it was too short. Same with Kristoff's "Reindeer Are Better Than People".

Yeah.....the Reindeer song is about the only song I skip over. but that's mainly cuz it's so short and doesn't even really feel like a full song........lol
