Just wondering if any of you would be interested in seeing this on the SciFi Network or just in general. I'm moving my production diary over to these forums just to see.

First of all to start you all off. My name is Chris Cowan (Director/Editor/Actor/DP of X3i), I am a student at Ohio State University. 3 years ago me and a friend (Alex Randleman - The Writer/Actor) started a scifi series called X3i. It can most closely be compared to an xmen-esque type show but it is a live action television series. We finished up to episode 4 but didnt finish the entire season because for our senior project we decided to turn X3i into a feature length movie called X3i: Divinity. To view older episodes and clips you can check out these links..

Anyways, here is the production diary now..

As X3i season one shooting is winding down to an end X3i has now taken another turn. We have decided to cancel season 2 of the series to turn X3i into its own feature length movie. Alex is in the process of doing the final revisions of the script and shooting will start the very beginning of spring. The shedule will be very tight and compact. AJ (ajjax44) is also flying in from LA to help me on set to cameo and direct a "certain" scene of his.

Divinity will feature a whole new story line. Expect to see some very familiar characters undergo extreme alterations and expect to see innovation -- powers as they were meant to be used. Divinity will show Rifes as gods amidst humanity.

The film is set for a summer release if all goes really well, late spring. I will keep you all updated on the production of the film. Keep an ear out for this one friends. We are aiming to please. :)

(Special thanks to Canta for the concept logo design)

Divinity has begun its first shoot today. AJ is in from LA to help out with the shoot as well as act/direct. The footage is looking great so far. We'll be shooting later today (Sunday) to wrap up AJ's and a few other's scenes. The movie is definately looking up. I'll keep you all posted and we'll have more for you tomorrow!

Well, this day was amazing. We completed all of AJ's scenes. Once again the footage came out beautifully. AJ is now on his way back out to LA. It was great to work with him on a project once again and cant wait till summer to start on our next. Anyways, I'll leave you all with a few more production stills. Hope you'll stay tuned for further news!

Well, were about 3/4's the way on filming the movie. I am editing scenes at the same time to cut down on time and also to make sure I dont need to go back and reshoot anything else. Things are looking good for the movie on the summer release. Just leaving you guys with a few screen shots from the flick. Hopefully I will have a teaser for you all within the next week or so.

I was expecting an amateur video...but from what I've seen so far, I like. and being a film student myself, that's some good editing

Damn some pretty damn good production values you have there.
Very well done man

Thanks alot Mic. Hah, its weird, this is getting positive feedback here but at another forum, people are tearing it up. They didnt realize that we arent getting paid or funded for this. We are just students doing this for fun. Also, we had started this even before X2 was out.. so had we known Xmen movies would be taking the path of calling the movies just X and the number in the series we wouldnt have chosen the name X3i. (Even tho it means "The 13th Initiative".) Oh well though hah.
