I saw Avatar in 3D and non-3D. Non-3D was much more enjoyable, although the movie still sucked. Anyway, does anyone actually like 3D? Do people really want every movie to be in 3D? I'm so sick of seeing everything released in 3D.

lol well look how much $$ its making, Of course people love the new 3D. I loved Avatar in 3D might be the best 3D film so far, ive seen 2 other films in the new 3D. While I do like seeing 3D films I dont want every film in 3D. Ray, I dont understand your anger since you have the option to watch it in normal 2D

If a movie has any 3D variation, I will make an effort NOT to watch it. Yes even Batman 3.

I can't see 3D to begin with, so I neither like it or dislike it.

But I do think it's just a silly fad.

I'm with Immortal. I can't really tell it too well so it doesnt matter to me. With Avatar I really never saw anything I'm use to with 3D.

I hate that every movie has to be in 3D now. It's the cheap 3D kind too, not Avatar 3D kind. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it if movies were filmed using 3D cameras as opposed to converting in post production.

I hate 3D and I absolutly can not wait until it goes away again, hopefully forever this time.

Meh its ok i guess, you can over do it way to much, and studios just seem to be slapping 3d onto anything these days.

Agreed that post production 3d sucks, next "true" 3d film to be out will be the new resident evil film

it wont go away this time im afraid, 3d tv will be everywhere this year, sports are now broadcast in 3d and they are working on not having the glasses, so its here to stay FOREVER!!!

I thought the next true 3D movie is Tron 2?

The choice is there, if a person wishes to be a critic or enjoy the fad. I really don't care. Avatar was kickass, either way.

For those that are old enough to remember the mid-80s and early 90s, the same fad came through. I remember cheesy-ass Friday the 13th 3D and A Nightmare on Elm Street: Freddy's Dead 3D, as well as other cheesy choices.

It seems the technology allows more people access, and better "in your face," if you will.

The 3D fad will fade; however, one can not dispute how cool the technology is, and how far we've come. . patiently awaiting where we will end.

Before I say this, let me make it clear that I am not a 3d fan boy. Sometimes 3d has worked (Avatar), but most of the time it stinks (CotT).

As we all know, 3D has been around forever and has enjoyed a constant, humble existence within theme parks for years, only venturing out into the film industry every so often.

But in those decades, very few real advances have been made with the technology. While TVs, computers, phones and games go through dozens of upgrades each decade, 3d has been the bastard child of the technology world, and we as consumers (for the most part) have seen this lack of innovation as a gimmick instead of seeing what 3d can truely do and where its future lies.

Look at your favorite scifi movies. They all have flat tvs, small mobile devices with no buttons - just an image on its screen and fingers used to swipe. Now look where we are now. We all love seeing the 3d technology (and others) in scifi flicks...and yet people complain about it in reality. Without sounding campy, 20 years ago what we consider to be normal everyday technology was only seen in movies. The "future is now" as it were.

3D is no exception.

Just like color TV before it, 3D is the next evolutionary step in digital entertainment. And JUST like color tv, and "talkies", there are going to be people who say "why? there's no need! everything was fine the way it was!". But the fact of the matter is, 3D is here to stay. It is still in its infant stages, but with the success of Avatar's technology, and the snow ball it has rolled down the hill, be prepared to see 3D become a staple of visual entertainment.

50 years from now our grandkids will look back and be amazed that we were playing Call of Duty and watching movies in simple 2d.

3D is a fad. Just like color television and HD.

1. I don't like the extra price
2. I don't like putting glasses on my glasses
3. So far I haven't seen any thing impressive.

So, no. I don't like it.

I'm still trying to figure out why if someone thinks a movie sucks, they would go see it again.

I don't like it.

12 Euro for 3D.
9 for no 3D

I wanted to see Clash Of The Titans, but it wasn't on in non-3D so I had to fork over 12 euro for a film that had ****** 3D to begin with.

Expect for those of us who think children waste air and resources and won't bother with them.

I could really leave it. I LOVE IMAX though. I could see every movie in IMAX and love it. I dislike 3D strongly, though..

Yeah, honestly, I don't think the 3-D added anything to Avatar and have yet to be impressed by any 3-D movie.

I think the 3-D helped make the only original thing about Avatar stand out, the world, Pandora and it's animals and wildlife.

Other than that every other 3-D movie is a gimmicky.

To me there are three kinds of 3D movies:

You have the 3D presented by Avatar, where it was actually filmed in 3D. In my opinion, this is freaking awesome.

Then you have the 3D presented by Alice in Wonderland, movies that were filmed in 2D but at least took into account that there was going to be a 3D release. Not as good as Avatar's, but still cool.

And finally you have the 3D presented by Clash of the Titans, movies that were filmed in 2D, meant to be released in 2D, but the studio decided to just tack it on because 3D is making big money. This 3D sucks ass, especially if it's tacked on at the last freaking minute.

So in conclusion, if you're going to release a 3D movie, don't half-ass it, go all out or at least make sure that you take into account that the studio wants to release it in 3D so it won't look awful.

this. 100%

I've only seen two 3-D movies (Up and Avatar) and honestly I felt like it was a waste of money. I've decided to not bother with it anymore as it's not worth the price.
