Do Republicans need or want Libertarian ideology when they have the Tea Party?

What do the Libertarians advocate that the rest of the Republican Party can appreciate that the Tea Party doesn't already advocate?

Libertarians, which I primarily identify myself with, are far left when it comes to social issues. We support gay marriage, abortion, legalization of marijuana and prostitution. Live and let live, if you aren't hurting anyone or anything go about your life as you personally see fit.

Our budget cuts are actually greater than tea party suggestions. Its supplemented with money cut from foreign aid and the war on drugs, taxes on said legal marijuana and prostitution for example. The only place I differ is national security. In my opinion we need tight security but with a none interventionalist policy. Build a strong homeland defense force.

I hoped the Libertarians would be the ones to seize the Rep Party from the stodgy old guard.

You'd need one as sneaky as Trump, minus his xenophobia and misogyny. Someone that could work the rubes.

Fine I'll run for president as a Republican, though I will reveal to my pundits that I'm a Libertarian in the final debate. I'm just a redhead with a moderately proportioned rack that can take a punch and shoot an arrow. :p

The social conservatives greatly outnumber them.

I like to think of myself as socially liberal and fiscally conservative. In other words, I believe in Reagan's slogan that the most dangerous sentence you can hear is "Hi, I'm from the government and I'm here to help"

It's the lack of fascism in libertarianism that drives the wedge between neo-cons and libertarians. Libertarians don't want anyone to be forced to do anything. It's not quite anarchy, there needs to be some things the government does, but I personally feel that the government should not be the go to source for every problem facing the world. Sometimes society has to step up and change. It's just unfortunate so many people are so undisciplined that they need a governing body to tell them what to do.

I think you could say the same for the contention between libertarians and Democrats. Both Democrats and Republicans have a sort of authoritarian stance on the way they want policies implemented and enforced, which goes against many libertarian tenants.

There you go again, talking about the shelf where you store your spices. I keep telling you, that's not a selling point, either in politics or on tinder!

But it IS a magnificent rack, EXQUISITE even!

Well fine then, pal!
