Do you ever consider the consequences of ragging on people on these boards?

I was thinking about this today. Things can get kind of nasty from time to time and has anyone ever takne the time to think about what kind of state the person on the other side of the conversation might be in. You can't see the other guy in messageboard chats so for all we know the guy I just called a waste of perfectly good skin could be some suicidal nut-job that then takes a shot-gun and blows his head off. While this wouldn't be entirely my fault I would share some responsibility for it.

What with recent events (starwarsagents scary fantasies etc) is this something you've ever considered and if so does it bother you?

If someone expresses to me that I've actually hurt their feelings, I'll most likely apologize and/or try to work it out with them. I'm often a brutal person, but I am never heartless.

I don't tolerate heartlessness from others, either, so when I see some poor bastard misguidedly asking for help on here and a bunch of immature, childish idiots start acting cruel just for their own amusement, I'll call them on it. That kind of behavior is pathetic and shows a real lack of character.

The guy obsessed with the girl from Hooters. He met her ONCE, in Hooters, had a photo taken, and many months later still thought about her and how nice she was to him. He wrote a fan fiction!! He wrote a story about them ending up together!!!

The guy was unbalanced to say the least.

Now, on the subject of making fun of people. A joke is a joke. In an ideal world, everyone would just take it on the chin and move on. So I don't think people should watch their humour. Go ahead, make your funny jokes, it's not your fault if the other person doesn't have a sense of humour.

However, there are people that take things too seriously. I'm not referring to the victims of ragging, but the people that do ragging. Like RogueDLN or whatever his name is. Back in one of my topics where I had a pic of myself, he kept going on and on about how ugly I was. I mean, it was the intent of my pic to make people laugh. But this guy took it strangely seriously. I mean, it was bizarre.

I see that type of thing alot. And I also see really serious ragging for seemingly no reason at all. It's like... what the hell is your problem??
