I checked wikipedia for info on nintendo and it seems like they have 12 first and second party development studios. you would think with all that, they would create some new IP's by now( which is something i feel they should've done with the gamecube). it seems like the best they can pump out is project hammer(which seems pretty lame to me). where is the next metroid, zelda, mario or whatever? do you feel nintendo is serious about creating new ips? nintendo is sitting on a goldmine(earthbound, kid icarus, and they need to ****e out starfox too), but it seems liketheyare'nt serious about games.

Uh, you do realize the generation hasn't even started, don't you? Miyamoto and co. already confirmed they were working on some old school projects, and some new franchises in addition to redesigning the landscape of the originals. Just because they don't have it available for launch, doesn't mean it's not coming.

Think logically here... if they spent their time focusing on the lesser named *new* franchises for launch, would most people be as interested? You gotta pump out Mario... you gotta pump out Zelda.... the rest will follow!

never said that i wanted them for launch games, i just want to know if thier working on any.

Well, considering Nintendo is best known for their first party games, I'm not that worried. Just because they haven't announced every first/second party title coming out during the first year or two of the system doesn't mean they don't have a lot of projects they're working on. This is the company that gave us Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Pokemon, Pikmin...
What has Sony or Microsoft given us first party wise? Halo, Ratchet and Clank, those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Well, Day of Disaster has me intrigued. Project HAMMER looks generic as hell, but I've got faith in nintendo.

Besides, with a new Kid Icarus basically confirmed that might as well be a completely new franchise.

Project HAMMER will probably be worth it just for the controls.

Zelda, Metroid, Mario, and Super Smash Bros. makes people buy the system. The new stuff makes people keep it.
