Do you have a best friend?

I thought about this the other day, and it occurred to me that while I have friends, even good friends..and I like to think that they would help me if I needed them and such.
But honestly, there is no one that I can call my "best friend".

Doesn't really bother me, but it struck me as odd for some reason.

I am a weird person. I don't have many friends. I have many people I talk to a lot, but I don't consider them friends since I don't socialze with them much outside of the class we have and such. I have 5 friends in total.

But, those 5 friends are friends I can consider a best friend. I can't decide between them, cause I am close to all of them. Some may consider this bad luck, but I see it as a good thing, cause these are all people I can count on anytime, and vice versa.

In my younger days, yeah. Nowadays I just have acquaintances I know from work or school that I just happen to hang out with if something comes up.

I have a best friend, we've been friends for 12 years. I think I am easy to get along with, but for some reason I have a hard time keeping friends. I meet new friends and they either have drama, are haters, are back stabbers, or want to get drunk 24/7.

I have very few friends so I'm close with all of my friends. I do have one friend that I consider to be my "best" friend.

I think most people fall into two categories. I have few friends and I have many friends. I think that people who naturally keep fewer friends have a hard time saying that they have a "best" friend because they become really close to all of their friends.

I have tons of friends. I have like twenty or so really really good friends. Then within that group I have another seven really close friends who I've known all my life and I tell everything to. Outside of those seven, I wouldn't consider any of them my best friend.I'm really good and close to them, but I wouldn't call them best friends. Best Friends is such a clingy word, it pretty much means you are exclusive to that one person and that person alone. I can't be like that, select submission to one single friend. I trust all my friends equally, especially the seven that I know I can turn to for anything.

I'd say I have a few best friends that I keep in contact with. But since graduation it's hard to keep in contact with a lot of my friends.

My best friends are all friends I've known since HS, and I've known most of them for 16+ years. I've known *the* best friend since we were in 5th grade, and I'm going to attend his wedding soon. I also have several friends from my faternity back in college days, but recently we have all lost contacts and no longer have our annual reunions.

The idea of a single best friend is too much responsibility to bare in this day and age.

To compensate I have about 8 people i can all discuss different certain aspects of my life with, Hypsters included.

That way, no one person can destroy what i stand for.

i find that if you have a best freind then if they die or move away or something then it's too much pain and annoyance...best to keep them all just freinds...that way no one sees you naked, no one knows what you're into sexually and they can move away and you'll be fine
