I just started to collect indoor plants for the last three months. I have about 20+ plants. I feel like I might pause in buying more because I want to see how they look like at the end of the year. The other plants I see in stores, look hard to maintain so I'm a bit cautios what I get and Ive been watching and reading to train myself more.I have killed one plant, Philodendron Birkin - which I will never get again. I couldn't save it anymore.

But the rest are looking healthy. My money tree is thriving, for me the easiest plant because I only water it maybe every 10 to 14 days, and I always see new leaves. My two snake plants are growing new leaves especially when I put it in direct sunlight. My two heartleaf philodendron are growing too even though I don't do much with those two and they are just hanging in the topof the shelf. I have a third heartleaf that I want to grow more since it looks skinny compare to the other two, and it already lost some leaves. Today, I pruned my Jade plant, since i want to see more growth eventually. Thats the plant I'm always cutting and putting it over the sun. My newest plants are njoy pothos and the red version of peace's lily - flamingo plant. Those two are only in my house for a few days.

From the ones I have so far, my favorites are burgundry rubber tree. I like how thick the leaves are and its my biggest plant. ZZ plant is very easy so I might buy more eventually even though its a slow grower. My money tree is the easiest and has the most growth. If I have a big backyard or an actual garden, I think I would get a lot more.

Oh what a great idea for a thread! Yeah we got into houseplants during the lockdowns and they’ve made everything look so much prettier plus the air is much fresher inside and we’re not coughing as much. I definitely recommend houseplants. I’ll post photos next time

I sure do. All pot plants mostly outside but a few are indoor.

Jade plants are hardier as they are a succulent.

I have a range of things from many snake and pathos, to some succulents, monsteras, an aloe vera, etc.

But, this 90s > 70s > 90s > 70s in Portland over the past 2 weeks as made my pathos all get 1/3rd yellow leaves and simply 'deflate' in a way. Hell, the same pathos took a 2-3 day move to Portland from South Dakota last July with less stress. And, I've been holding back on my watering.

I have between 20-30 plants, btw.

I just cut all the leaves today as I'm not happy with how they looked. I planted some of them though just in case, they grew some stems/roots. I'll see in 3 months if it works for me.

My wife loves plants so yeah our house and our yard are full of them. I wish I saw this thread sooner lol we are already in the fall

Erm I can’t remember. If I find out I’ll let you know but I got it a while ago. There’s heaps of really nice nurseries around us

I live alone so these plants are like my companion for the last 4 months.

I took the photo just few minutes ago. If you can see the lighter green leaves - its its newest growth. I still get surprised when it suddenly have a new leaves/stem and I only water it once in 10 days.

This is treubii moonlight:

At first, I was really confused how to water this, and its not as common as a snake plant or a jade plant. And It took me awhile to find its plant name.

Some videos I saw, said this was hard to maintain. I noticed that the leaves all get curled up. But I realized it just needs to be watered at least every 4 days. The leaves will curl when it needs water, and when you water it, the next day, the leaves are full again. Its that easy and the way I water this, is not "bottom watering". I hold the pot and I just let the water drain from the pot holes and its done. The white shade in the leaves you see in the picture is why its called moonlight. And I've seen plenty of new leaves from this plant already.

We have one of those and some other, larger plants. My wife loves orchids so we've got a few of those too. Mainly in the kitchen where there is a lot of light. She also has some kind of green, Japanese maple tree in her office with some smaller plants.

I only have 1 plant with grown flowers (Anthuirum). I've seen orchids in the store where I got my rubber plant (and the 1st plant I killed) but Orchids intimidate me.

I would love a Japanese maple tree, they look great. Living in a condo kinda limits the plants I can own. And even though I have a terrace, I only put my plants there when there's sunlight. I fear insects would use them as their hide out.

Her indoor mini maple tree gets hardly any light and grows like gangbusters. I'll take some pics. We have a really beautiful Japanese maple tree in the front yard and a Peppertree that I really like. I hope I can get peppers from it.

I don't know much about plants other than when I see one, I go "oh yeah....I killed that one". If it were left to me, the only ones that would (probably) survive would be the plastic kind.....maybe.
