Do you like the Joker better with or without the hat and trenchcoat?

The Joker has gone through many different designs depending on the interpretation, but it has remained consistent. White skin, green hair, red lips, and a purple suit. Simple enough. However, one aspect of his design that does vary is his signature hat and trenchcoat:

Adaptations often flip flop if they use them or not. For example, the Joker wears them in Batman 89 and in the DCAU, but doesn’t wear them in The Dark Knight and the Arkham games. So I’ll ask, do you prefer the joker with or without them?

The scene where he shows up in his hat and trenchcoat in Mask of the Phantasm is one of Joker's most memorable scenes of all time, and the way he looked was definitely part of that. It shouldn't be his default look, but I think it's great for when you want to add that little extra feeling that ****'s about to get real.

Either way is fine to me. Just ditch the long hair ushered by the adaptations and you've got yourself a memorable character design.
