im aking because im watching a special on abc on world wide disastors and they were bring upall these ways we can die from the unlikely to themost likliest.

so what do you guys think?

I'm pretty sure we have some "shadow" Government plan where all of the top Washington officials would go underground....so in short, no not remotely prepared.

Based on Katrina :confused" No,not at all

The horrendous grammar in that first post almost made me black out.

GAH,learn survival skills. Folks on survior can't start a fire
Most people panic at the littlest thing.

I was on a metro train that broke down and the lights went out for all of 10-15 minutes and the lack of adults keeping it together, had kids in tears. I just sat there hoping my bladder would hold. I don't know if it's because it's DC and ground zero, but nothing will be accomplished if we can't think straight. :(

Well, we have been able to somewhat deal with George W. so far.

I would think with Area 51, we would have something there to destroy a big rock that is hurling at Earth. But who knows?

There isn't a government out there that is prepared for any apocalyptic events.

Theyre building giant caves like in Deep Impact, all we have to do is get Morgan Freeman in the White House.

We all know Katrina was a conspiracy cover-up. They could've done way more than they did.

All problems would just completely disappear.

it's impossible to be completely prepared for any event.

that time and money is better spent on trying to help the world as a whole instead of always playing safe.

you can't live your life completely wrapped in cotton wool.

:down

Don't tell me what I can or can't do!!

This cotton wool sure is itchy though... :(

No.The USA likes to talk about being ready, but that is just a front to keep the people from panicing or looking into things too much. When something does happen, many will die, because the American government is now lazy and corrupt.Think about it.

Mmmhhh...is the governemnt prepared for a world wide disaster? Well, if Katrina was any inclination, than hell no! I mean, that wasn't even the W's fault! That was Fema and a bunch of other government people. (sorry for lack of detail.)

If we were invaded by aliens, every single movie scenario would come to light. I highly doubt we have stuff in the reserves ready for things like asteroids, global warming, etc.

And how would we stop asteroids or global warming? We are kinda screwed with those.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Although, they COULD have been prepared...
