Do you think it will be the best reviewed superhero film in 2013? Just like First Class in 2011 and X2 in 2003.

I don't think it will beat Iron Man 3/Man of Steel when it comes to box-office numbers but I hope it is going to be the best reviewed superhero film this year.

I think that title will go to either Iron Man 3 or Man of Steel.

I don't know if it will be the best. It has tough competition.

And it depends how you define 'best.'

The critics' reviews and box office will be interesting to see.

Iron Man 3 doesn't look like it has a lot of substance, judging by the trailers that are playing on TV at the moment.

Man of Steel looks much more interesting than Iron Man 3.

I think The Wolverine would look more distinctive if it was more Japanese, more samurai. But it's not a bad trailer, just seemed a bit unoriginal to me (though better than Iron Man 3).

The Wolverine needs to be good to keep up the franchise's momentum for DoFP.

It's gonna lose in $$$, no doubt in my mind.

Critically, it's a much more interesting question. I'm not convinced any big comic book film is gonna score high in this regard, all 3 have stumbled previously. Cautiously optimistic about the lot of them really.

I think there's a good chance that Man of Steel will be thought of as the best superhero film of 2013. I'm cautiously optimistic about the Wolverine though, and Thor: the Dark World.

So everyone's just gonna forget that Thor 2 comes out this year as well, I know it's a while away but it's still a factor.

I think The Wolverine will get lost in the shuffle unfortunately. I do expect a solid film from Mangold, but whether it can top IM3 critically is another matter. At this point I'd say NO, based on the great buzz that Black's film is getting so far. Even though I like Wolvie better then his competition, he's down on my anticipation list after seeing the trailer. I found it flat and uninspired. You can't tell quality from a trailer, but it didn't sell the sizzle.

So everyone's just gonna forget that Thor 2 comes out this year as well, I know it's a while away but it's still a factor.

It's tough to gauge when there hasn't been any footage yet. Things will change after the trailer. I'm looking forward to TDW more then anything in 2013. Hopefully the first footage doesn't let me down.

I think it is going to be a terrific film, but not the defining one this year. The critics' reviews of Iron Man 3 have been positive, and Thor: TDW has considerable potential. So, it is between those two films; and at this point, having not seen IM3, or a trailer for Thor: TDW, it is difficult to say.

Iron Man 3 will be top grossing one of 2013 without a doudt. My response to Iron Man 3 has been Meh.I haven't seen anything that makes me want to spend money on It.

Man of steel Is going to be a Batman begins style hit.The final trailer Is making me reconsider my oporion on It.

The Wolverine has going for It It can surprise people.Box office It's best hope If Hugh Jackman and better reaction can get close to what Origins made.

Thor was weakest marvel studios film for me.I enjoyed Cap better.Hell Even Iron Man 2 was better than Thor In my oporion.Captain America:Winter solder Is the only disney/MS film I have much Intrest In so far.Thor:The Dark World will likely do close to what first film did.

I think this could be the most consistent year for big superhero movies, quality wise. I certainly hope it ends up that way, it'd be great to have a hard time picking a favourite from this bunch.

In domestic, yes but international, I don't think so especially with 3D release.

Its been a long time since Wolverine appeared in a movie as a lead character and Hugh Jackman is still a popular actor. So I see the movie having more success internationally than Origins and First Class.

So everyone's just gonna forget that Thor 2 comes out this year as well, I know it's a while away but it's still a factor.

 My bad. Thor 2 not being a summer movie made me forget it.

After the trailer, nobody should forget about it any longer. Amazing.

it's gonna be tough

i think Man of Steel & Thor 2 look excellent

You must haven't seen the new trailer or ready ANY of the interviews which indicates otherwise. It has an entirely new director AND writer for Pete's sake, it's going to be alot different than the first film.

I actually really liked the first movie but I wasn't excited by the trailer of Thor 2. I still have my doubts about Thor 2 and Cap 2 because of Iron Man 2.

Highly unlikely, with IM3 or MoS probably taking that honor.

And back in 2011, most people didn't think First Class would get more critical acclaim than Captain America and Thor. Who knows, FOX might surprise us again!

But like X-Men: First Class, Wolverine is being released by FOX. While Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel are being released by studios that has a better reputation with fan-boys.

will it be the best movie? maybe, but we'll only know once they all come out
but I'd say critics will go for IM3 or maybe Thor 2
And box office will almost undoubtedly go to IM3

The first trailer for Thor:The Dark World didn't cause me to change my oporion.I am still kinda of Meh to It.

I have a very Meh feeling to Iron Man 3 but It doesn't change the fact It will be top 2013
film as far as money goes but remember Iron Man 2 also made tons of money

Man of Steel Is likely to be a Batman Begins style hit It probally won't be a Dark Knight style hit.

The Wolverine has lot of pential.Take Iron Man and avengers out of MS films and you see they don't crap gold as far as critical reaction goes. And If Robert Downey JR Isn't Starring they make under 200 million Domesticly.

Thor with 3-d just barely outgrossed Origins domesticly.Cap with 3-d wasn't able to outgross Origins domesticly.Origins actully outgrossed X2 International although first Class outgrossed Origins Internationly as well as Cap.With 3-d The Wolverine will do very well Internationaly. It's domesticly that's the question. At best case It will be close to what Origins did 179 Million but I wouldn't be shocked to see a 150 Million domesticly slight better than First Class but 200 Million International higher than Origins but under both first Class and Last Stand's numbers.

Thor will likely get close to 181 Million that first film did domesticly.Sequels like the Empire Strikes back,Batman Returns,Superman II,Spider-Man 2,Iron Man 2,and the Dark Knight rises did less than original domesticly.

Untill I get some idea on what Joss whedon has planned for avengers sequel Cap sequel Is only MS film that has given me any excitement.

Dark Knight did less domestically than BB??
News to me

Also, Thor and Cap were both those character's first films, so $170-180 million was a good (most would say great) haul domestically

$179 for Wolverine, with all those movies under his belt and a better domestic total for X2 and X3, had to be more disappointing to the studio

that said, if this one make $150 domestic and $350 or so million international, with this movie's slightly lower budget, it'd would be a decent chunck of change

All those films are pre-Avengers. If IM3 outgrosses it's predecessors (adjusted for 3d/inflation) will you finally stop using this argument?

And if you take out X-Men, Wolverine, and Hugh Jackman Fox can only crap... well, crap. Marvel is the only studio with the proven track record of producing successful comic book movies beyond their "A" franchises.

I totally had forgotten about it until I read your post but yeah Thor 2 will come in way below the bigger names like MOS and IM.

It will just make a decent revenue back just to satisfy the Marvel/Paramoun execs.

As for The Wolverine being the best of 2013? highly doubtful outside of the U.S. I don't think Wolvie is popular unless he's with the X-Men.

I think critically MOS will win the critics over this year, followed by IM3 and then Thor TDW/Wolverine being similar.
Financially, I think it'll be IM3, MOS, Thor TDW then The Wolverine.

But then again, I suck at predictions...
