Do you think The Wolverine could be the best 2013 superhero film?

Well got to see KA2 and it was a bit of a let down, some good moments but mostly just an average sequel all round. Didnt think it would beat the first and not going to go down as one of my favourite CBM's of all time, so my listings for the year so far stands at:

    1. The Wolverine 9/10
    2. Man of Steel 7.5/10
    3. KickAss 2 6/10
    4. Ironman 3 5.5/10
    5. Red 2 4/10

How big is the Hit-girl part? She was more or less the main character from KA2 comics...

She is the main focus to be honest, but its more Mindy than Hit Girl. She probably has two fight scenes as HG at the start and at the end its more a story about her not being HG. To be fair though Moretz is the best thing about the movie and sort of holds it together, just.

Well its not A CBM but I saw Elysium last night and that was a bit of a dissapointment too. The rate this year is going TW is not just going to be my CBM of the year but my overall movie of the year!! Although I think that says more about the competition than anything else but still never expected that on Jan 1st. Still, few more films to come this year so we shall see but I have been dissapointed a lot this year it seems.

Saw it again today. Never noticed how cool the theme song is until today. I just bought it offline. :)

I thought KA2 was a very good follow-up, not an amazing movie and certainly not as good as the 1st, but it did NOT deserve the critical bashing it got, it should have been somewere in the 50's or even 60's on RT if you ask me.

It wasnt better than TW though, and for me, MOS still edges TW out as best CBM of the year. That may change once I own and re-watch both though.

The problem is that there are so many movies that it makes viewers fussy. I didn't bother with Kick-Ass 2 (it didn't seem to offer anything new) and I'm not bothering with Elysium (doesn't seem that fresh either). It's partly because I've had my fill of sci-fi and comic book movies this year. There's a limit to how many times you can feel the need to rush to the nearest cinema.

Studios are going overboard with the number of films they are releasing. And, at the same time, the marketing for many films is very poor.

You could be right, I was discussing this with friends at the weekend, we have been to the cinema more times this year than any other year ever I think (the main reason being it is so cheap for us now we don't have to worry about the price like once before) but in terms of how many great films I have seen I think there was more last year when I only went a few times. This year seems to be more about quantity rather than quality as you say.

However I think these things go in cycles, you have some bad years and some good ones, plus not everyone will feel the same, some will think this has been an excellent year, unfortunately for me I don't agree but that maybe just the films I have choosen to see or been able to.

I don't think there were many sci-fi films last year so was really looking forward to Oblivion and Elysium, so its not like I had reached my limit, but neither were quite what I had hoped.

The year that I went to cinemas the most was 2008. These days, I'm now picky what movies should I watch or not.

I was pretty burnt out on summer movies by the end of June. It felt like I had to run off to the movies every weekend, and by July...I just wanted to go to the pool.

And I'm a die-hard moviegoer. If I need a break, I can't imagine how a casual moviegoer felt around the same time.

Feel like I've been hitting pre screenings every week since Summer startings. Been no end. Thing I've been disappointed in has been the quality of the films overall. Nothing really left an impact. Probably walked away from This Is The End, The Wolverine, Wolrds End and The Conjuring most satisfied. I dug IM3 and KA2 alot though.

The quality of the films over-all made me limited to which films should I watch in the theater.

Yeah, I think alot of audiences feel the same as you this year by the way some of these films are under performing.

Actually the movies that I kinda wanted to watch last year like MIB3, Snow White/Huntsman, Battleship and Journey 2, I've seen those 4 recently on HBO and its a good thing I didn't watch them in theater. Of course, there's something different about watching a movie inside the theater (like the experience) than watching a movie infront of the TV, but I'm not gonna use my money to something that I'm not that interested to.

Watched this during my vacation in Thailand, and enjoyed it. I enjoyed it a lot. This was so much better than the first disaster of a movie. And I loved weakened Wolverine. Reminded me of the time in the comics, where major injuries took him hours or even days to heal.

Seems about right to me. I thought IM3 was a major letdown, and I enjoyed both MOS and W2 immensely.

The wolverine has pulled ahead of man of steel In poll.

If you forced me to chooce a second best film I guess I would select Man of steel over Iron Man 3.And if you forced me to chooce between it and Star Trek Into Darkness I would probally pick man of steel but that's more because any probelms i had with man of steel were worse with into darkness and I am longtime trekker.

MOS was easily my least favorite comic flick of the year. Theres some great stuff in it but KA2 and IM3 were both more entertaining for me. If I didn't vote TW Id vote IM3 without thinking twice.

Just finished watching IM3. Love and hate it at the same time. Disney, get out of my movies. No match for Wolverine. MOS doesn't interest me at all so Mangold's film is my no.1.

Of all movies I have seen this year, "Wolverine" and "Love"(2011) are fighting for the first spot. Or they could share it, so different from eachother.
