I mean do you think there is a book in that universe done by a racist/specist normal ordinary human with a racist/specist/ignorant/hateful book on why mutants are not considered people similar to the the early 1800's when slavery was legal when whites thought they were "superior" and considered anyone who didn't look white as "inferior" as there was a book by Buckner Payne who made pamphlets and a book that was a guide to why people of different skin like negros to Arabs were considered not human based on the color of their skin and were considered "dumb animals"?
 
This whole X-Men analogy to real life persecution is off-base by one obvious factoid, most mutants get inherently dangerous abilities.
So...it's more similar to gun rights issues than it is to discrimination.
