The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Doc Ock in TASM2

Just watched the ASM2 promo with voiceover of Jamie Foxx, as Electro, talking. Appears as though he is being tested on, while likely at Oscorp.

Throughout his dialog, talking about wanting to know how powerful he is and feeling "it" in the walls and in his veins, he states the following:

"No matter what you do Doc, you can't contain it."

Now while he states this on the screen you can see a blurred out figure, assumedly this "Doc", moving towards him and the equipment.

Can anyone post a pic of the figure?

Anyway, why have Electro use "Doc" in his dialog? I am starting to think that this is leading towards Doctor Octavius, an Oscorp Engineer, being introduced in TASM2. If this is true then very likely he would not only be featured in TASM3, but he would indeed end up either being one of the members of the Sinister Six or even the team leader, like so many would like to see.

So, does my logic hold water? Would they/could they hide that Doc Ock will be in the movie?

Maybe when he goes crazy he accidentally transmites electricity throught the arms solding them with his body and then remember the image of a doctor in a hospital maybe it is that...#crazy theory

i have wondered for a while if B.J. Novak could play doc ock, or at least Otto Octavius for this film

he doesn't seem to have a character down on IMDB

I wouldn't mind that happening, he kind of looks like a skinny version of the spectacular spider-man doc ock.

OMG, yes, this makes more and more sense.

Yes, it could be any doctor, but, why have Electro specificaly say "Doc"?

And it would make a lot of sense to have Electro's testing lead to an accident that causes the bionic limbs being grafted.

Novak is famous enough to be a key role like this too...

And he could pull off the look!

I think the theory of Novak being a younger Richard Parker in a flashback is more likely to be honest.

Also, isn't "Doc" kinda a normal short for any doctor?

I think that Doc Ock would be wearing those classic sunglasses though, and not regular glasses like Novak does in that set pic.

Otto Octavius doesn't need to wear sun glasses I'd imagine that would be when he was doc ock, but he could be a young Richard Parker yeah

Ok, I see your point about a young Richard Parker. Looking at those glasses they do seem to be very similar to the ones that Peter found in TASM.

But I still think there is something fishy about Electro saying specifically "Doc". Yes, doc is a general term, but it's not that common. It would be more likely that he would say "No matter what you do Doctor Smith, you can't contain it." Or if he knew the doctor personally then it would be "No matter what you do Fred, you can't contain it." Or just simply "No matter what you do you can't contain it.".

Maybe Doc just means some dude, but what if it is indeed Doctor Otto Octavius that he is talking to?

Is doc ock is introduced then this would children 3 things. 1. He will lead sinister six and GG will be killed 2. He is just a tease for fans or will be killed. 3. Both GG and doc ock will be in the sinister six.

I'd love Ock to be hinted at in some way but I also don't want the film to become too bloated. I'd even flip out if the name Otto was thrown out there randomly in the film.
