You guys are lucky. We Goblin fans have to put up with news of how Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is portraying the Green Goblin. Lucky for you, Ock isnt being used. To show you the bullet you dodged, this most likely isnt far off the mark.

Now, now-just because the TOTD Goblin looks FAR more like a Power Rangers reject than what they accused Dafoe of being, that doesn't mean they would bastardize Ock.

"I am Dr Octopus. I am going to smack your puss" :lmao:

Is Turn Off the Dark the musical I've been hearing about? It's been getting some really bad feedback.

I dont know. It seems like the whole production has been bastardized.

Yes it is and yes it has.

I was being sarcastic. From what I've seen this abomination will make "Spidey Super Stories" seem positively inspired by comparison.

Blasted internet...cant broadcast emotions...what good is it?

Did anyone else get a look at the new Heroclix Doc Ock mini for the Web of Spider Man set? Its 121 points of Octo-goodness. And the sculpt is nice. Heroclix has finally done Otto justice.

I recently read Spider-man Unlimited vol.1 #3.It contains a pretty cool Ock story that explores Ock's more human side. Here's the cover.

I have this issue, and I agree. It's one of the better Doc Ock stories of the era. The story has a nice ironic twist to the ending.

I remember that one. Much as I love Ock's ego, it's always interesting to see him come out from behind it. Like in Amazing...I wanna say 339.

Ooooh I haven't seen this. You have a pic by any chance?

One of the best Doc Ock stories ever. Tom DeFalco always writes great Doc Ock stories.

#339, you mean The Return of the Sinister Six storyline?

Ugh. I'm terrible with issue numbers. But I was referring to the S6 arc, where Ock let Spidey go because Spidey didn't press his attack when he had the chance. But I think 399 was in the middle of the Clone Saga.

That was a typo on my part. #339 is indeed the S6 arc.

"Pricing that burundite before me may be insulting, but it does lend credence to your tale....I look forward to our next encounter."

That's the one. It also has one of my favorite covers:

Pretty awesome. I'll be picking that up and adding it to the collection.

Probably my favorite Larsen arc after 332-333.I always loved Larsen's design of Ock.I thought it was best suited to his character.

Hey Spidey, I think there might be someone behind you :oldrazz:

Great pic.

I recently re-read the original Return of the Sinister Six arc from Michelinie and Larsen. Some of the dialogue is cheezy enough to make you cringe, but the story builds up well, has a great ending, and is fun throughout. No contrived attempts to be grim-n-gritty, no agenda driven crap or trying-desperately-to-be-hip self aware deconstruction nonsense. Just a kick butt entertaining superhero story, with Ock at his manipulative peak. And best of all: no Wolverine.
