...which is better, and for what reasons?

Does Doom even compare? Who is the better engineer?

doom has magic does that count?

or pure armor?

Just based on the armor, I'd have to say Tony. After all, he DID work as a weapons manufacturer.

Doom is second in alot of things. His intellect is second to Reed's. His magic is second to Dr. Strange's. His armor is second to Stark's.

Put it together though...

His intellect is debatably second to Reed's. It's Doom's ego and Reed's family and friends that usually throw their confrontations in Reed's favor. Doom has managed to do several things in the intellectual arena that Reed couldn't, though. Curing the Thing and building a time machine that doesn't create divergent timelines come to mind as the most notable of them.

a time machine that doesnt create divergent timelines?

any self-respecting scientist would balk at that...maybe it had "Grandpa paradox compensators" built into it.

Dooms Armor is powerfull. Tony's suit is Armani. In combat Doom would incinerate Tony in his Armani. It would be fairer to compare Dooms armor to the Iron Man armor.

Intellect is a difficult thing to gauge. My roommate is a computer technician who doesn't know his ass from his elbow when it comes to performing dentistry on a dog. I could do the dentistry, but once my computer starts being stupid, I can try everything I can think of (i.e. hit the monitor, nope doesn't work.. hit the CPU, nope doesn't work.. whine.. hit monitor again..) and I'll never get it to work without help (or dumb luck).

Doom might be smarter than Reed when it comes to time-travel and Thing-curing, but not be as smart when it comes to other things. (I'd like to see how Victor fares in canine dentistry! Ha!)

I had a hard time with this question.
I had a lot of personal biases to overcome.
On one side Dr. Doom is one of my heroes. He is my favorite person in the MU bar none. So there is a considerable bias there.
Stark used to be one of my favs, but since cival war I have lost interest in him. He is now a government stooge, and a *****.
So what do I do?
I guess I have to go with Stark, although it is a grudging acknoledgment of his armor at best.
However in a fight I think Doom would take him, because Doom has more at his dispoal IE brains, tech, magic, determination, no sense of morals and a total lack of consideration for human life other than his own.
Still Armor to Armor stark would probably win
Dammit!
