Does anyone else find multiplayer games distract from completing your single player

I have red dead redemption, arkham city, castlevania, crysis 3,the last of us and amazing spiderman to still complete...yet i feel drawn to call of duty, battlefield and dc universe online all the time..i want to play and compete these games..but with my busy life style as a self employed person i rarely game proper time to sit down so i am always on the quick fix games...
any one else the same?
or just find that it is easier just to have a blast on a simple mutiplayer game and like fighting/shooting other people??

Nah, if anything I find myself getting out of competitive MP gaming. I'm seriously getting sick of playing with a bunch of *****e bags...And I find that's all that competitive MP consists of. Not saying everyone that plays BF of CoD is a prick..but the vast majority of them tend to be.

I find myself becoming a co-op person (which I suppose could still be viewed as MP) That's why I'm so excited for Destiny, the Division, Elder Scrolls Online, FF14 ARR, etc. Granted that's not ALL I want to play..but I'm being drawn more to co-op games now over competitive MP. Mostly because it's the SP campaign with a friend, or in most of those games case, MMO.

I'll still be playing Killzone Shadowfall online, as well as Battlefield 4..but I'll be games like Destiny far more since the competitive aspect has gone out the window.

Not really. Most games that i play for MP(Battlefield, Gears Of War) have s**t SP's any way.

^True. BF's SP is SO bad I often wonder why they don't just release it as a MP only disk.

Maybe 4's will be better. Who knows...

I mostly play online for most games But is just a preference and not cause of distraction

If it's just me, I don't really play multiplayer games. When I've got friends online though, yes, I usually end up playing multiplayer with them instead of whatever single player thing I'm interested in at the moment.

Iv found myself doing the same. I used to jump into matches of Gears or BF by myself all the time. But over the last yr or so, i rarely do that. I like to go into a game with ppl i know are decent, especially in a game like Gears where there are only 5 members to a team.

I used to prioritize multiplayer over singleplayer. Lately though, I mainly just play single player. It's mostly just the way my life has changed and I want a game I can pause at any time. When I was single it was easy to waste a day playing online multiplayer, but now married I can't and even if my wife is out somewhere that means I'm taking care of our puppy which means I can get distracted very easily.

I can't say it's ever been an issue. I prefer single player, and rarely bother playing online, certainly never with strangers. About the only game I've ever spent a significant amount of time in mutliplayer is GTA IV, but I still spent far more time in single player.

Just the opposite for me most times. MP doesnt keep me interested much.

I actually have the exact opposite problem. I love single player so much that the only multiplayer games I really play are Borderlands (which doesn't count, cause its coop and much better than playing solo) and Spartan Ops on Halo 4 (which is also kind of a coop campaign). I used to play City of Heroes, which is an MMO so it once again doesnt really count.

I want to play Assassin's Creed multiplayer but I just have a lot more fun running around cities/frontier killing NPCs and hunting.

My brother buys most of the CoD games we own, and in those I also just play campaign levels over and over because I don't find multiplayer fun.

I think i have a pretty good balance of multiplayer play and single player play. I lean towards singleplayer stuff pretty heavily. But i do enjoy some bf3 or call of duty every now and again

I try to complete single player before playing multi player. Doesnt always happen though... lol

I don't really like MP. That's one of the reasons I don't like ME3 as much as the first two. The forced MP for story reasons is a huge drag, especially when everyone you join is an ******.

I don't understand, what forced MP was there in ME3?

When it first came out in order to get the best ending you had to play MP to get your resources up from the 50% they game kept it at no matter what you do in the game. If you didn't and you didn't get every little thing in the previous games to max out the resources without the MP you could potentially just fail the end of the series. :p

Never mind the bull**** red, blue, green endings before the dlc.

Ahh, I see. I didn't know about that!

Yes, my single player game backlog gets bigger everyday as I get distracted by co-op & multiplayer with friends. Doesn't stop me buying games at the same rate though! :woot: :csad:

I haven't yet fully understood the attraction of L4D either.

It depends on the MP game. I've only played The Last Of Us for about an hour because I'm still having fun owning fools online in Injustice. So far I think The Last Of Us is really good, I just can't put down Injustice.
