I was just watching Thor vs. Hulk and I was thinking how it was so cool how Marvel used to produce these animated movies like DC does. They really produced some quality moves: Ultimate Avengers, Thor/ Wolverine vs. Hulk and Doctor Strange were standouts. And then they just stopped. they produced a couple of....mediocre anime films, the one with Black Widow and Punisher wasn't bad but largely Marvel had abandoned this model.

It'd be cool to see some original animated DTV's again. Do you guys think we ever will? Should they? What animated films would you like to see? I'd love to see movies centered around Spider-man, Daredevil and more Punisher.

No. Most of them were pretty terrible, and the rest were just blah.

I guess it would be nice, but yeah the only one I watched that was worth watching again was the first Ultimate Avengers. And even then you'd probably rather read the Ultimates. Though it was a great stand in for the younger crowd who probably isn't ready for some subject matter in that book...and at the time, a proper Avengers movie was still far off.

I think I watched UA2. I watched Iron Man, was ok but boring by the end. It had a preview for the Dr. Strange film which did look way better but I never saw it. Hulk Vs. was entertaining, the only one I still own...I think I preferred the Wolverine segment. I would like to watch it again.

Yeah, I actually really enjoyed a few of them. UA1, Young Avengers, Hulk vs and Planet Hulk were my favorites. With Marvel now being a part of Disney, there's no reason why they shouldn't be competing with WB/DC when it comes to producing animated films.

For the most part, they were pretty bad. I don't miss them. I'm not even that keen on DCs that they're doing. Mostly it is just abridged versions of better comics with bland art style.

Thor: Tales of Asgard is fun, same goes with Hulk vs Wolverine (I did not watch the Thor one).
Other than that, their animated movies are awful.

Under the Red Hood and Public Enemies are better than the comics they are based on.

No. I watch the animated TV shows with my child and I find myself getting annoyed at how different they are from the film casts. :funny:

If we are speaking films then yes I wish there were made as long as they were along the lines of the better ones. There was always room for improvement though. I'd like to see properties that we hadn't seen yet or may never have seen on live action. Maybe shorts or vignettes.

Not really, they were okay and with the films kicking off with three a year I don't feel like we need it. I do miss quality animated shows though, I've watched an episode or two of Ultimate Spider-man and Avengers Assemble and I find them unwatchable. I really miss earth's mightiest heroes and spectacular spider-an

There was an animated Doctor Strange film? Well, guess that proves how memorable it was.

Considering the crap they air on XD now? Hell yeah I miss those movies!

The Avengers one and Doctor Strange were good. Hulk vs was okay. The rest were meh.

I have Thor: Tales of Asgard, Dr.Strange, Iron Man on DVD...

I like Thor one the most...the graphic is anime-like...I sometimes put on the Japan audio when i watch it...it looks like a real anime 😊

What story would be a good adaption though for an animated movie? Everything I think of would be more fun as live action even something like squirrel girl

Animation is killing it this year and is even going to gross more than CBMs. An animated movie about a well-known comic book characters (if done well) can totally surpass CA:CW or even Avengers in term of game-changing. We already have Big Hero 6 but that movie is before the huge come back of animation (though still rode the wave of the colossal success that was Frozen) and has obscure characters. If a studio (potentially Disney Animation or Pixar) can make a movie with story and style like Zootopia with a well-known Marvel character (more well-known than Big Hero 6) they can make bank.

(That being said I don't think the next Spiderman animation can do it though.)

I don't. I have only seen Ultimate Avengers, Ultimate Avengers 2, Invinicible Iron Man, Doctor Strange and Hulk VS and they weren't really good. I prefer if they just make a new X-Men TV series! That would be more exciting! :ilv:

the time it would take to draw a movie would probably take too long as the people funding movies dont want to wait years for them to be made.

Jack black did such a great job as Po, when I hear him talk I hear Po not jack black
