Does anyone have a 3D TV?

I almost bought a Samsung 55" 3D one, but because of the price and the fact that this is still a 'new' thing, I declined and bought just the Internet enabled 55" Samsung LED TV.

I have sat and watched a 3D movie for a few minutes at the display and it was rather good, but those glasses look like they wouldn't last a year after constant use. Also, this is still the 1st generation of 3D TV's. Also, you need a real big TV and you have to sit in a certain part of the room to get the best effect. This is not the best idea for an irregular sized room.

I personally would wait at least 3 years before I fork over the at least $500+ premium price for 3D. That'll give them times to reduce the price (or make it standard on new HDTV's) and fix the bugs in the hardware and software.

^ This.

Obviously, the whole 3D TV concept is not perfect yet... it's better to wait it out, let 'em work out the kinks, then buy a 3D TV.

'till then, stick with what you have... or get a HD TV. :)

Or if you don't want to wait for Holographic, the new OLED TV's are freakin' incredible.

My friends dad has one, I personally didn't enjoy it.

Wait for holographic tv.

I saw one of those at the mall... not for sale of course. I dont know how much it'll cost when they are.

personally, I'm staying away from 3D at home because only the people with glasses get to watch the movie. Everyone else is seeing the blurred image

Right, thats one of the hidden costs of 3DTV. $150-$350 for an extra pair. For me, OLED is the immediate future, and 3D is just an added gimmick.

I'm waiting for 3D without the glasses.

You won't be waiting long.

Toshiba Could Have Glasses-Free 3D Ready This Year

Rumors from Japan say a 21 inch model may hit by this holiday season!
The whole 3D thing is exciting, but it's clearly an imperfect technology. The need for expensive glasses is a big problem, and having to wear an accessory – even if it were a cheap one – in order to watch movies is just annoying. That's why companies are rushing to capture the glasses-free market.

Progress is on the way with the Nintendo 3DS and a rumored cell phone, but Toshiba's looking to go a little bigger. According to rumors from a few different Japanese media outlets, Toshiba has a 21 inch glasses-free display in the works.
Pricing is expected to somewhere in the thousands. As you might expect, a spokeswoman from Toshiba gave the usual response of "We are not in a position to make any announcement," but rest assured, HDD is on the case!!!
